What an interesting and inspiring place to visit! Lovely cafe overlooking the Port of Sale, art gallery and library.

We're so glad we stopped in to the Gippsland Art Gallery driving through Sale on a road trip! This gallery is of such a high standard that it's on par with that in any big city. What an unexpected treasure filled with fascinating and unique masterpieces. The spacial qualities, colour and material palette as well as the layout is all wonderfully thought out in tune with the mindset of the various user groups.The visitor information area, library, quiet reading and sitting areas and gift shop as well as the cafe (with a fantastic view over the Port of Sale Historic Precinct) are all exceptional. We highly recommend stopping in even if you're just passing through like us - it's well worth a visit!

Just love visiting this gallery. Our first time traveling to Sale by train for an exhibition. Love the exhibits once again. Jan Leamont’s wooden sculptures were a highlight for us. Then there is Josephine Jacobi…. amazing delicate works weaving spider cases into lacework!

This is a beautiful art gallery to visit for free. If you are stopping at Sale Botanical garden, don't miss out on this as the gallery is very close to the garden with enough road side parking. It won't take more than an hour to view all the art work as it's not too busy. Moreover, there's a cafe where you can eat and relax with a view. Also, they have a decent library and they have a dedicated place for kids to create art. I won't take a star off even though I felt that the items for sale where a bit too expensive.I highly recommend visiting this art gallery.

My son and I go there quite often for arvo tea at the cafe, followed by exchanging library books, then sometimes we venture through the art gallery to the skate park outsideThe staff at the cafe have always been super nice and friendly, like on occasion gone above and beyond to be accommodating.Library staff also ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

A combination of art gallery, tourist information centre & library overlooking the Port of Sale is an impressive building. Went to see the Archibald Prize there. Well organised. Also viewed Annameike Mein exhibit. She is a textile artist. Must be seen to appreciate her skill & talent. Photos don't do justice to the artwork. Amazing. Worth the trip to Sale. Lots of things to see & do. Just stop at the Tourist Info Centre at the gallery for inspiration.

Small gallery but very good. Very Worthwhile stopping off here, especially when taking the time to drive around to the back of the gallery in the Port of Sale area and accessing the gallery from there. Such a beautiful setting not at all obvious from the highway the other side of the building. Nice little coffee shop overlooking the boats and waterway and parkland at the rear. Small gift shop and tourist information desk where I picked up some brochures for the rest of my drive to Lakes Entrance.

A very nice display of local artists. It's not too large of a gallery but uses its spaces well. Also has a nice cafe just out the front of the gallery.

Lovely gallery by the lake. Good cafe within the building it gets quite busy. Short walks and picnic tables are close by.
