Managers Lodge Inneston
A mysterious location, you will only find it if you walk around the town. It is protected as part of the historical monuments. If you're looking for a unique and historic experience in South Australia, then the Inneston Historic Walk is definitely worth checking out. The trail takes you on a journey through the abandoned gypsum town of Inneston, which was once a thriving mining community in the early 1900s.Starting from the car park just inside the gate at Inneston, the four-kilometer return walk will take you approximately two hours to complete. The trail is well-maintained and easy to follow, but be sure to wear sturdy shoes as there are some areas with unstable ruins. The ruins themselves are a fascinating glimpse into the past, with remnants of the once-bustling town still visible. From the old post office and general store to the ruins of the gypsum crusher, the walk is a unique opportunity to explore South Australia's industrial heritage. It's important to note that the walk can be quite strenuous, so be sure to carry enough water and take breaks as needed. Despite this, it's a popular trail for visitors to the area, and for good reason. The Inneston Historic Walk offers a rare opportunity to step back in time and experience a piece of South Australia's past.
