Nothing special, also a quite small dam. Downstream area seems nice, but not accessible by car - not our age group can go. Maybe more suitable to the young people.

As the Wivenhoe Dam is primarily a water storage facility, there are limited recreational activities available at the site. However, visitors can still enjoy a scenic drive along the dam wall, which offers stunning views of the surrounding countryside. There are also several lookout points and picnic areas, making it a great spot for a family outing or a peaceful day trip. For those interested in fishing, the dam is stocked with a variety of fish species, including Australian bass and silver perch. Overall, while the Wivenhoe Dam may not offer the same range of recreational activities as other destinations, it is a beautiful and tranquil spot to enjoy the natural beauty of the region.

Great views of the dam and the gate. Ideal place to do family picnic. No shops around picnic area so best buy food before arriving.

Had a FANTASTIC family day at the Logan Common area. Wasn't too many people and everyone had their own little spot. Great swimming, great for the kids and so safe. Just remember to bring your insect repellent, and watch out for snakes!!

The dam spillway overhangs the waterway below, offering unique views in all directions. Turtles and fish can be frequently seen below, and when the dam is releasing water it is an awe inspiring sight. Ample parking in the area and several information boards inform of the local birdlife that call the area home. Many picnic areas are only minutes away along the lake front. Definitely worth the visit!

We were going in but too many people there. Took photos from one of the lookouts. It was very impressive. Even saw a koala in the carpark

Grat to see the dam back to capacity. Pleasant surroundings/atmosphere. Public amenities, Electric BBQ's and many covered tables and seats. Lots of room for children to run around as well as two children's playgrounds.

Comfortable drive throughout the Lockyer Valley and the Somerset and Wivenhoe Dams. Plenty of picnic and waterside space at the Spit on Somerset Lake.
