Our team had eight in-house training sessions with Jodie this year! She is a fantastic presenter and trainer. Jodie made every session engaging, practical and fun. Jodie is always well-prepared for each session and provides valuable resources we can use in classroom teaching. We all loved the warm-up activities and the drama performance! I felt newly inspired after attending these very fun sessions with Jodie. I learned some great strategies and activities for engaging my learners and including everyone regardless of their English level, confidence and prior experience with drama in the classroom.

I really would like to recommend this all of the teachers I know! Jodie took me on an extremely fun and mind-opening journey exploring language teaching through drama. Although I didn’t know much about drama and thought I would be pretty nervous doing drama myself, through Jodie’s sessions, not only did I get so excited to get out of my comfortable zone, I also got to see the immense benefits of drama pedagogy in language classrooms and learned many very practical strategies I could try in my own EAL classrooms. (And I did try and my students loved it!)

Jodie is an excellent presenter and trainer. Her workshops are engaging, practical and fun. Empowering, inspiring, transformative and fun are words that come to mind when thinking about the Language in Context 3 week online course facilitated by the very gifted and talented Jodie Whitehurst.The peaks of heightened aesthetic and whole body engagement Jodie Whitehurst created online was expertly facilitated to explore the what and why of language learning by using the conventions of drama as a conduit for imagination, creativity, safety, fun, confidence building and cooperative/collaborative learning.The power of storytelling not only comes alive in process drama to learn language, but the collaborative learning is at the heart of our humanity and communication. Whilst now I have strengthened these skills myself, with the support of Jodie and her resources, I miss the online sessions with Jodie. However, I am now equipped to be the facilitator of learning with my own students using the power of process drama to empower language learning.

Jodie is an amazing facilitator!The Process drama workshop was very engaging and hands-on. There were lots of opportunities for participants to do process drama throughout the course alongside explanation of the purpose of the strategies.My initial self-consciousness was alleviated by seeing other participants involve themselves fully. The energy was contagious. This was important since as a teacher, I could understand how the students might feel when we use process drama for the first time.

Jodie was the consummate presenter and educator. She set the scene for what we were going to explore in the day's workshop, explained why and all throughout made it super fun, accessible and practical. She always brought it back to the language learning goals and strategies behind each activity or technique so you knew not only how but why a particular drama technique was useful. Her energy was amazing all throughout and you genuinely got a sense of this was someone who loves what she does and really wants to help others find new ways to make language learning accessible and fun for their learners. 100% would recommend it to any colleague.
