We visited this restaurant for the first time around 8.30pm on a Wednesday. Ordered a chicken koththu, hot batter cuttlefish and a buffet. Buffet food was ok. Portions are big. But Chicken koththu was so salty and horrendous, ended up handpicking chicken pieces and left the rest. Hot batter cuttlefish was SOAKED in sweet chillie sauce. You can’t have more than 2 pieces because of the overpowering sauce flavour. Had to wipe off the excess sauce to have it. Extremely unpleasant experience

Bought these caramel pudding 22nd of July, it’s suppose to expire on 24th of July but it’s already disgusting and expired! I would never go to this dodgy restaurant. Very disappointed!!

I never miss going here to get the Mixed Fried Rice whenever Im visiting Melbourne. It’s the best I’ve found so far. Huge serving, street food taste and generous amounts of meat and seafood!

I got the chicken Kottu and although the food is yum, I’ve found 2 hairs in my food so quite turned off by this. It’s a shame because the food is tasty, just the hygiene definitely needs improvement!

The food at Cinnamon Gate is exceptional! Very tasty and well prepared and you can choose among many menu options. I love the service at the place and the staff is so friendly and always takes care to offer the best quality.highly recommend!!

Hidden gem for someone who loves Sri-Lankan food. The serving comes in very generous size and affordable price. Their rices are very fluffy and nice.

Ordered Roast paan deal for $14.00. Not worth for money and never recommend this place to anyone and so disappointed. Why these people can not afford generous portion size which worth for money.

The food is fantastic (although if you don't like spicy then this place may not be for you). The serving size is extremely generous (even for take away). They do seem to be checking vaccinations for those eating in. It is a bit concerning that people can serve themselves from the buffet considering that a lot of people are eating with their hands however sanitiser is available as is a washbasin. Unfortunately a lot of the workers weren't wearing masks or were wearing them under their chin. There was a good selection for the buffet.

Delicious food, and I would rate it 7/10 spicy for someone who can handle mild to medium heat food occasionally. Some dishes are very spicy, some are not. Plates and cutlery are not so clean if you want to eat in. I would say the restaurant is all about good quick food, because it doesn’t have very good ambience for eating in. Would come again.
