Tong's Chinese Restaurant

Terrible when there was more potato then actual protein. The meal was 1 third rice and 1 third potato. Never ever had potato in chinese yet. The thai fishcakes were tough and rubbery.

Good food, although there is a bit of a wait and the waitresses were clearly uncoordinated between each other, forgetting drinks and being asked are you ready to order mains" right after ordering from the other waitress. But overall pretty good"

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner tonight. As someone with Chinese heritage, we can be picky about Chinese restaurant, however, we were impressed with freshness of ingredients including veggies, meat, and seafood, as well as the flavour of the dishes. In our opinion, Tong’s is amongst the best Chinese restaurants anywhere in Australia.

We were told our takeaway order would be 35 minutes and it took 50, the food had zero flavor, the satay sauce was practically water and cabbage, hardly any other vegetables and the rice didnt even soak up the water/sauce. Was gross, if we looked at the reviews prior to doing a drive past, walk-in order, we wouldn't have ordered here.

Good food but prices have jumped 25% in the past couple of months

It is quite wonderful. The quality of the things they cook here is comparable to those by big famous restaurants that I visited in Hong Kong. The choices of dishes are plenty, more than ten dozens, I wonder how many years it takes for a single cook to learn so much. For many times, I looked into the kitchen when paying at the counter, the cook is always the same one. Another incredible thing is that, they have the ability to cater to special needs, like replacing allergens with other ingredients that are compatible. Perhaps the Chinese people sometimes cooked for Buddhist and Muslims.

Eight of us went there last Friday night. We were all very pleased with our meals. Delicious! Service was excellent. Best banana fritter too! Can’t rate it highly enough!

Terrible food, terrible service.We ate here tonight and had 3 meals. After an hour, and being the only people in the restaurant we received our meals. We ordered:- chow mein was not chow mein. It was soggy- sweet and sour pork was ok- chilli seafood was just the same as the chow mein but with a sprinkle of chilli powder. Half way though my meal found a chunk of beef.- rice was burnt and was the dregs of the rice cooker.After an hour, we were starving so just started eating. Didn’t complete anything. Barely touched the chow mein and rice.We said to the owner after that we are really unhappy with the meal and showed her what we were talking about. We said we don’t want to pay for the meals we didn’t eat. She yelled at us and became hysterical, saying we planned this and that we were scamming her. That if we had a problem we shouldn’t of eaten it. She also said that this rice is normal. And that its ok to have chunks of meat in non meat meals. I responded saying we tried the food and that we’d eaten majority of the seafood chilli before finding the chunk of beef. I also said not all the rice was bad so ate what we could with the pork. And didn’t touch the chow mein. We were starving and ate what we could.In the end, the owner didn’t charge us for the rice and took $10 off the rest of the meal.Disgusting service. Disgusting food.

Its dishes are authentically Hong Kong styled. Everything is thoroughly cooked inside-out and are in big sizes in relation to the prices. The ingredients are fresh and taste well. Just like businesses of similar styles in Hong Kong, the choices of order are numerous. Most are of common Cantonese styles, some are localized(for picky Hong Kong people, not for obese Americans) versions of dishes from other parts of China(Kwanghsi, Peking, Shanghai, etc.) and other countries, i.e. Singapore, Mongolia, Thailand, Britain. The cook makes things out of many livestocks - pig, cow, goat, chicken, duck... Some common seafood is also provided - squid, scallop, fish, shrimps... The take-away option is good news for those who want to avoid crowds for health reasons. It is also an isolated building, instead of being part of a shopping mall. During my visit, there were few who dined inside, but many ordered take-away meals. However, it is a bit sad that it does not offer the delivery option - they say they did not have much staff.

Party of eight. Dinner was very good. Everyone liked their dinner. I had curry beef and rice. Very good.
