Glenys is a bit unrealistic. Sure, buy the part from E Bay. Put it in yourself (if it fits). Or, pay for a craftsman and pay for his experience and expertise. This brings me to my review. Such a rarity in this day and age to find a true craftsman. It is such a throwaway world that is is usually cheaper to throw something away and buy a new item as a replacement. But sometimes there is a nostalgia appeal to an object and the cost of a repair is entirely warranted. Master craftsmen should be appreciated for the service they offer. This sort of service will disappear before too many years pass...

Very annoyed by this man, he lied to us regarding a clock mechanism . We wanted a new one for our clock and he told us he didn't do battery ones only wind up ones.Our daughter in law didn't know we had enquired about it as it was a surprise, she took it a couple days later and he put in a battery mechanism and charged her $130 . What a rip of they are only $10 on eBay.
