Firstly .... ha ha ha ... cat restaurant jokes ... SO ORIGINAL and SO FUNNY ...NOT!!!Secondly, Bambi breeds the most incredible Burmese cats. We have one, 5 months old. Little boy. Sociable, friendly, energetic, lovable and gorgeous. Can't recommend this breed enough and Bambi's care for her cats is obvious in everything she does and the process she follows. Keep up the good work Bambiand ignore these idiotic online trolls with their infantile cat restaurant jokes ... pathetic.

VERY disappointing. Anxious, hiding, not at all well socialised as a pet from such a breeder should be. Months later, still nowhere near as friendly and well adjusted as previous kittens bought from another breeder. It's not just the cat being 'naughty' as Bambi suggested when calls finally answered. Take care to spend time with kittens before buying .

Our Bajimbi babies of which we have four have all been very well socialised and healthy. Bambi is very quick to answer any questions we have and has shown us around her cattery so that we could meet her wonderful cats.

I purchased a beautiful lilac Burmese kitten from Bajimbi Cattery 8 weeks ago. At the first vet appointment, I discovered that she was riddled with worms and within 8 weeks she was hospitalised with the Feline infectious peritonitis (FIP), a viral disease that is almost invariably a fatal disease. FIP is especially prevalent where large numbers of cats are kept together. A hygienic cattery and vigilant breeder are ESSENTIAL to ensure the health of every kitten. I have uploaded a video of my little kitten, which was taken just before she had her lungs drained for the second time in 4 days. From today, she is in hospital for a week where she will be treated with the antiviral drug, Remdesivir. Please be advised that the following is upsetting. When I asked the owner Bambi for information about her processes and policies when one of her cats is sold with Feline infectious peritonitis (FIP), she yelled and swore at me through the phone. The breeder then proceeded to walk away from the phone at which point her partner Brian began yelling, from a distance, in a dreadfully uncouth manner. It was both hurtful and unprofessional. Collecting my kitten had made me feel like all my christmases had arrived at once. I was so excited and grateful that I even purchased a beautiful gift for Bambi from David Jones (I attached the photo of the gift, mainly because it demonstrates my own compassion and the raw excitement, which I felt on that day). Unfortunately, I put too much trust in Bambi. Today, the specialist at the Animal Hospital removed another 100ml of sticky fluid from my kitten's lungs. Breeders must be vigilant and not be permitted to breed or sell ill kittens. Breeders need to ensure that they check their facilities and regularly enquire re: the health of their breeding felines. Needless to say, it was heart-wrenching for me to read reviews of similar experiences to mine 'after' the fact. Interestingly, I do remember asking Bambi if I could see my kitten's mother and father at my monthly visits; she never permitted me inside the cattery. Sadly, I now know why. Please seek out an hygienic cattery and an ethical breeder. For all the beautiful stories of happy Bajimbi cat owners, I have now read far too many sad Bajimbi stories involving fatally ill cats. Be mindful that Bambi only accepts cash. She does NOT honour the terms of her contract NOR does she file the council paperwork. Please do not be deceived by the images of cute kittens. Please read others' stories of fleas, untimely kitten death and owner abuse. Whilst, you may be one of the lucky ones, there is also a chance that you might not be so lucky. My kitten is currently fighting for her little life. As she gasped and gurgled in bed last night, I thought about the fact that her pain and potential death was entirely preventable. If you require urgent support for FIP please contact me and I can support you with the necessary information and/or contacts for the Sydney area. Franki Ford

I bought a “retired” queen from Bajimbi. I lost her 2 weeks ago from heart disease (a genetic disease) after having her only 8 months. I asked for vet history at the time and was told they had none. When I asked for photos of the cat I was buying, Bambi sent me photos of completely different cats. They are dodgy.I was yelled at by Bambi during my visit to collect my cat, as I was asking too many questions, and Brian looked me in the eye at the time and told me they would not sell me an unwell cat. They can look you in the eye and lie.I now know, my little girl had litters that weren’t all healthy, hence why they were selling her. They never told me any of this. I have since spoken to vets that know them that say their property is full of fleas and they should put a bomb under it and start again. It was a traumatic experience buying from Bambi and Brian and to have my adult cat die 8 months after receiving her from a genetic disease just confirms my initial thoughts about this breeder: they have no morals and should retire.I emailed Bambi and Brian and told them of my cat’s death, and never heard back from them. They wouldn’t know what customer service was if it slapped them in the face. Do not touch these people. They are as dodgy af.

I’m extremely annoyed with this breeder. I have been ringing and leaving messages for weeks only to find out she has taken deposits for all the kittens. I rang just before the litter was born and spoke about how desperately we wanted a kitten for my 13 year old oriental who has just lost her best friend. The breeder told me to call back in a month, and that I couldn’t visit for at least 4 weeks. I tried to get in contact with her numerous times since our initial conversation, but she never returned my calls. So so disappointed.

As a vet I have been in contact for all manor of cats for over 25 years. I originally purchased two Burmese cats from Bambi back in 2001. We are now onto our fourth Bajimbi Burmese, Dougal, who is currently enjoying his retirement as the clinic cat! I cannot recommend these cats highly enough. They have all exceptionally friendly and outgoing. Dougal has been the star of many preschool and Kindy vet talks, taking the pokes, pulls, hugs and pats all in his stride.

Had to entertain some wealthy foreign clients for the evening. Decided to make a booking at Bajimbi's as I know they offer the finest degustation, certainly not for those with a weak stomach. Needless to say, they were very entertained. Best dining choice I have made in years.

Lisa Morgan, - had the same experience as you. Not only did I email, quite a long email regarding wanting a kitten and my home and what other pets I have and children etc (a good breeder should not just sell to anyone). All about myself etc. took the time to do it but mentioned I would have to save up so not be looking for one now but in 6 months or so (another good thing a good breeder should look for is a person who is not impulsive and can wait). No response. Then I rang several times and left messages again with lots of information about what I wanted and politely saying can I go on list and about the home I can offer. NOTHING no response. I thought this is weird. & and felt confused.Eventually I had a friend call up and pretend to ask to buy a burmese cat, wanting it asap not ahead of time, she did not even get the breed right when saying it on the phone message and said nothing about herself. She got a call back immediately. Makes me think breeder is interested in money only and not good homes and is not interested in answering polite emails where people take the time to write all about themselves and the homes they have to offer. Was very disappointed to say the least.

I love my cat but she has had feline herpes since the day I brought her to the vet for the very first time (apparently picked up at the breeders). Since then the associated issues have cost me thousands more and at one point she was close to losing her eye which gets ulcers due to the herpes. One of my good friends picked up another Burmese cat from here also, he's a friendly (albeit kind of slow) cat but he was born with one side of his hips higher than the other, which is fine now while he's still relatively young, but will cause him issues when he gets older. Although it seems to have helped his climbing skills as he's a born climber! In terms of customer service, Bambi was fine to deal with at the time, however a couple of years after picking up my little girl, I sent them an email to ask for some basic information and I never received a response despite sending a follow up email. The animals are very cute but you may want to get a vet clearance document before picking them up lest you end up in the same spot as myself and my friend.
