Mount Crawford Forest
My favourite Local forest, I love walking through this place, it's really quite magical. Not a great deal in the way of. Shops and cafes or things to do near by. But if you like nice peaceful walks in pine forests then this is most certainly a good spot to do it. Packed during mushroom season too. Loads of saffron milk caps grow here.

Mount Crawford Forest is a great place to go exploring amongst the rows of pine trees with lots of great things to discover including fallen trees, birds, dead trees and lots of different types of mushrooms.Surrounded by all types of Australian fauna with gum trees & blackboys everywhere it has lots of great photography opportunities!

Awesome place for camping all vehicles accessible 1 hour drive from adelaide city. Great hiking and camping spot. Near shopping place is gawler so make sure you pack enough foods and drinking water. If you are staying in tent carry a water proof tent and enough firewoods.

Nice peaceful place (at least when I went) but personally I think kuitpo forest is much better. Not really any signage and I was confused where the trails were

Bored of Belair? Kuitpo too clostrophobic? Pining for the fijords and forests of northern Europe? MT CRAWFORD forest is an enormous expanse of bushland and regenerative pine forestry. For hiking, camping bushwalks, horseriding, midnight mediaeval festivities, or peaceful forest bathing (clothed, please!), Crawford is just stunning.✨️

Amazing place to come for a bushwalk or a picnic. Make a day of it. So many tracks to take, great parking spots. Amazing scenery definitely a must for the nature enthusiast!! Highly recommend for an adventure without leaving Adelaide - around an hour drive but definitely worth it.
