Goyder's Footsteps Dares Hill Circuit - Adelaide | George W Goyder was sent north in 1865 to solve a problem - is it possible to grow crops everywhere in South Australia ? Some two months later Goyder returned with a line delineating good crop growing areas that experience good rainfall, and those that don't. Despite Goyder's vision, many farmers still took to the land, and Dares Hill Circuit shows the sad results of their efforts.

Private property signs everywhere now. Damage to the aboriginal paintings due to council repairs of roads and idiots. Was once a nice drive now dull and can't explore anymore.But I guess the Sign now make it easier to get around..

*UPDATE April 2022 Road is open. 4wd or high clearance recommended. Check with Burra visitors centre before Leaving.Please be aware of road conditions. Parts of route may be rough due to flood damage. Vehicles with high clearances recommended. It is a picturesque and enjoyable route. Take plenty of fuel,food and water as there are no services available. Tourist drive 21 signs were upgraded.
