The Beach Stanley

We stayed @ not quite the beach in town and loved it! Well located on the main strip with ample bars, cafes, shops, and the start of the Nut walk within east walking distance. A touch further on is the lovely beach. What a beautiful town!

Big Sandy beach flats when tide is out great place to run your dog...Wind is freezing even though it was sunny and mid January..

We stayed at The Cubby" on Church Street

Lovely, cozy cottage at the waters edge. Short walking distance to the wonderful, historic village centre and enjoying the dramatic backdrop of 'The Nut'. The well stocked complementary pantry and cheese platter is a nice touch. Even has resident penguins in the back yard. Recommended.

We stayed at Not quite @ the beach in Church Street in Stanley. We were given very good information from the owners before our arrival by text message. The lockbox was easy to find and to open and get the keys. The house was much bigger than we were expecting and the bedrooms were very spacious. The owners kindly left us a cheese platter and a bottle of mineral water which was very kind of them. The heaters were running and so the house was cosy and warm for us when we arrived. There are nice little touches such as hot water bottles for the beds and board games. The beds were comfortable and everything was nice and clean. The location is excellent and very close to the pub so you can just walk up the hill to dinner. There were steps up to the house, and in the house you needed to go up a step to the bathroom and up to the living area. As someone with mobility issues, this made things a bit difficult for me as there wasn't much to hold onto to get myself up and down the steps. A rail next to the indoor steps would have been good. Also the shower was extremely small. I had to actually turn the shower off so I could soap up as there just wasn't enough room! The shower head was lovely and huge but it was too big for such as tiny space. Overall though the cottage was very nice and a great place to stay one or two nights.
