Excellent place to have a remarkable lunchS43°2.073' E147°56.881' At the Blowhole parking lot in Doo Town, this caravan is well known for fresh berry smoothies, fish and chips and curried-scallop, rabbit or venison pies. In February of 2020, we followed the advice of the author of Lonely Planet to order the best curried-scallop pie in Tasmania. Not coming from a pie-country, we needed cutlery to eat the pie. It was our first and it tasted good. Excellent place to have a remarkable lunch. Recommended.

Recently holidayed on the peninsula. Decided to get lunch from this place. About 1/3 of the menu was sold out/not available. Decided on a basic fish and chips. Loads of chips came with meal but the fish was dry and overcooked. Staff were not interested in knowing about the fish even though on the day we went there were not many other tourists around. Actually felt prices were a little over the top considering they are a food truck set up in a carpark, and not an actual cafe.

Friendly service, the girls working today were very happy to answer all our questions re:food. Ordered a fish burger and 2 cones of fish and chips. These were cooked fresh and just right. Chips were the best on the peninsula. We also ordered milkshakes and these were awesome. Worth the ride in off the highway. Awesome view while sitting eating your chips.

So fresh and so tasty. We drove from Hobart only to try out eating here and it was well worth the long drive and time. Highly recommend the fisherman’s basket which has little bits of everything!

The hubby and son said the best fish n chips they’ve ever ate. I had a toastie which was delicious too and we all had a cappuccino to finish it off. Very busy little place but worth the wait. Great feed, definitely recommend! Great little walk to the blow hole too.

20+ minute wait for over priced below average chips and fish wrap.Oil must be dirty as chips/potato cakes were abnormally yellow.Fish wrap almost tasted like it was microwaved. If there was another person cooking it might improve quality and quantity!

Oil was old, chips were YELLOW?? Service was deadpan, value for money was NON EXISTENT (See pics) all menu items now min $15-20 and tiny serving size - particularly scallops with very few TINY scallops. This is clearly not under the same ownership as years gone by - this USE TO BE a spot worth driving 1 hour just to get fish and chips.... we will never return again.

(3.5 stars)One taste of Tasmania I was disappointed to see The Taste of Tasmania festival skip over was the state’s famous scallop pies. This necessitated a bit of side-tripping for us, to try and locate the best exemplar. My first experience was in Doo Town, a quaint little seaside town that had us in stitches over their house-names – Make Doo, Dr. Doolittle, Didgeri-Doo – to name but a few. Not to be outdone, the business we visited was a food caravan called Doo-Lishus, parked in the Eaglehawk Neck carpark. The surrounding area boasts a blowhole (under-performing on the day we dined), as well as some shaded picnic tables with a scenic view. The Doo-Lishus Curried Scallop Pie ($8.50) contained a few, big, tasty scallops bathed in a saucy, yellow curry made using Keen's Curry Powder. I would have liked to see the powder cooked in a little better and the scallop to sauce ratio a little higher, but I rated the pastry and thought the meaty, roe-on scallops contained within were high quality and perfectly cooked. The van also makes a tasty Venison & Red Wine Pie ($7) and most everyone was walking around carrying a white cardboard Fisherman’s Cone ($9) full of hot chips and crumbed mussels. The umbrella hole in our picnic table made for the perfect holder as we enjoyed our first ever scallop pie.
