Great remote camp. Basic facilities. Quiet. Needs a bit of TLC but nice for a quiet rest.

A very quiet campground with fantastic views. We were lucky to get a place on the cliffs so our view was spectacular. If Towing put your vehicle in 4wd before starting the track in. Camp hosts are very friendly and there is a fire at the servery area each night. The equivalent to Stairway to the moon was very spectacular.

We were there 3 days Sites were ok, but grounds not maintained. Very few toilets, cold showers and no cleaning done to toilets or showers whilst we were there. Nice location, but not good for swimming or fishing.

You are only paying for a view $20p/p, certainly not boat friendly, only place to launch a boat is off squeaky beach with no vehicles allowed, so makes rock fishing difficult (so many snags) Camp ground very sandy boggy and dusty. Amenities just passable.

In desperate need of maintenance, camp kitchen and cafe area have been abandoned, amenities are ok but very basic and not enough toilets/showers, grass is overgrown, there's a lot of rubbish in the fireplaces and in the camps up the hill... no hosts on site and no one answers the phone, a guy comes around at 4pm to check bookings. Safari tents look very sad and not waterproof as they had the mattresses drying outside after the rain. We left after one night. Overpriced and needs a lot of TLC. Also if you're not into fishing there's not much to do. Views are great but the camps with the best views get filled up quick and what's left is just messy overgrown bush... Not worth it.

Gumbanan is a basic bush camp. No management on entry. You just turn up find a spot and pay at the food truck after 5pm. Consequently it is very chaotic and dusty when it is busy. The sites with good views on the cliffs can be very crowded, and amenities are very limited for the number of people there. There are some bush sites away from the water to escape the crowds. There were two saltwater crocodiles in sight so we could not swim.

Very rustic camp in lovely location. Was a food truck there but no food. Was power outlets but no power. Great undercover sitting area. Rough camp kitchen. Shower/toilets serviceable. Could be great with a little more attention but if you are after basic this is it. Old fish trap off the point.

Absolutely in love with that place. The view, the beaches and just the location. Friendly staff, tasty hot chips.Only the amenities could help with a little bit off love (modernisation) but still clean. Little fire drums at the campspots and space to spread out and camp with friends. Great bushcamp to unwind and relax. (They also have 4G internet out here which just blew my mind haha)

Gumbanan was a great stay. We turned up in our campervan and we were able to park up at the overflow campsite (accessible with 2wd).The rest of the track was a bit soft so we decided not to tackle it in our hire campervan. A 100m walk took you into the campgrounds. The hosts weren't there when we arrived but upon paying for our stay (at 5pm at the food truck) they were very welcoming and warm. Patch (the dog) in particular was VERY loving. The view from the campsite was beautiful. We watched the sun rise and set from the cliff side over deep blue water.About a 1km walk from the campground was Squeaky Beach. This place was amazing and peaceful. We spent most of the day here just relaxing.Overall; would definitely recommend this Bush camp. Bring some mozzy repellant and sun protection and you'll have a great time.
