Robert the Chair Doctor Upholsterer

Thought I would shop locally. When his assistant gave me a price i asked for Robert to call me back to discuss the quote. I had to call him 5 times over three days. Each time i was assured that i would be called back within half an hour. Im still waiting!!!!Have moved on and so has my business and my recommendations.Poor form.

Refurbished our worn out old sofa's and now they are as good as new. Would thoroughly recommend Robert and his son to anyone in need of furniture that requires fixing, did an outstanding job.

Robert was extremely rude. I came with my elderly father to get a quote for his set of living room chairs. Absolutely appalling treatment of potential customers, they acted as though we were wasting their time. I would not step in that place again.

The terrible quality of their work is exceeded only by their unacceptable and threatening customer service.This company is a bunch of con men - they will promise you a thousand things and hold your valuables ransom until you pay their fees for work that looks like it was completed by a 4 year old. I have attached photos of their work which was 4 weeks late, lazy and looked terrible. They didn’t even bother apologising, instead this appears to be just the standard they live and operate by.

Robert was great, I popped into the shop for a quick chat about my job, and found Robert to be extremely helpful with suggestions of fabric etc that would suit the job best. Robert's quote was by far the most competitive and the job was finished a week early.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Robert, The Chair Doctor for their outstanding work in reupholstering our family heirloom.Robert and Jeremy provided great advice and had a huge array of fabric to choose from. Their workmanship is exceptional and we couldn't be happier with the end product.Thanks again guys.

I don't normally go off reviews but this time I should have. I needed a small repair job so I emailed my request for a quote. I had a response saying yes they do my type of work could I send photos, so I sent photos. No response. I sent a follow-up email. No response. Not responding is extremely rude and bad business. I understand this time of year is busy and everyone wants their job done now, but some sort of response is better than no response at all. An email saying something like we are unable to quote until the new year or this job is better than completely ignoring a new customer who not only has the requested job to be done but others. This customer service is extremely disappointing. In reply to your response, no I didn't use an incorrect email address i responded to YOUR EMAIL you sent asking for photos. Extremely dissatisfied

We live locally and required 6 dining room chairs to be recovered, we love the chair structure but not the black fabric. It was going to be a big ask as Xmas was looming, emailed following a neighbours recommendation then a phone conversation, Took the chairs down chose a tricky fabric of a light yellow in a type of corduroy. Very happy with the quote as its an investment and the recovering and foam replacement didn't exceed new chair cost. Absolutely to their word chairs were ready just prior to xmas and it's a fantastic job, we have no reservation in recommending them. I see other reviews of poor or rude response this was not our experience. They are true craftsman and funny guys to boot.

I have used Robert on several occasions through my time as a secondhand dealer. His workmanship has aloud me to recommend him to repair or refurbish items of furniture with the utmost of expertise that will be passed on to more satisfied clients.
