First time i've eaten at Holy mackerel and will absolutely be the last, as a leeming local i wanted something closer than Southlands fish and chips, absolutely gutted at the quality of the snapper i ordered, undercooked gummy fish.. $42 for 4 pieces of inedible fish and chips with no salt. The no salt would not be a problem apart from the fact the kid on the phone asked me specifically if i wanted salt and i said load it up with chicken salt". I know its "just a fish and chip shop" but have a pinch of pride and professionalism because you come off as pathetic. If i could give 0 stars i would.. go to southlands fish and chips instead

Thought I would try this shop out again as Ive not been there for about a year it was a Friday night, place was busy the staff all looked stressed, and disorganized. Orders were not being completed it seemed, but mine was as promised. Once I unwrapped it a home ( only live 8 mins away ) batter peeled off the fish everything was soggy not crisp. Such a straightforward dish to cook but they just haven't got it, afraid I wont return.

Was served by this guy called thomas, was very nice and willing to have a chat while still working hard. All the staff were very polite and quick with the order. The food was cooked just right with the chips being crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle. Overall great place to eat and very fair prices.

Not sure if there is a new owner but the lady in there is always super friendly and helpful, on Friday it was so busy, people lining up and she had it under control and got our dinner out within 10-15mins as promised and chips were super yummy and fish cooked to perfection. It’s now our regular Wednesday and Friday night stop off for take away! We had the grill fish last time and it was so good! Highly recommend! Wish they sold burgers lol

Great fish and chips here, two boys running the joint provided great friendly service. Serving size was excellent, chips perfectly cooked and salted. Fish was delicious and so were the squid rings.

Best fish and chips around but they have no dim sims and haven't for a few weeks which is quite annoying because they are so nice

What a great find this place is! The BEST fish and chips we've had in a very long time, and very reasonably priced. Light, crisp batter and superb fresh fish. Generous portions, and snapper is the standard fish used. Chips better than most other fish and chip shops - crisp and tasty, without being greasy and soggy. Friendly, quick service. We will definitely return!
