Very cosy cabin in a beautiful and peaceful spot surrounded by bush. Self contained with kitchen, wood stove and spa bath. Lots of wildlife around including wombats. Dog friendly accommodation.

The Red Dog was the perfect breath of fresh air my wife and I needed. Surrounded by lush forest, the sounds of nature are all you will hear. It is a Cute little cabin, one of two at the bottom of the hill with a quaint interior, a spa bath and fire place to keep you warm on chilly evenings.Sit and soak it all in as you unwind or head over Kangaroo valley or Berry, only a short drive away and spend the day meandering amongst the beautiful boutiques, maybe have a glass or two at the wonderful wineries.We had a wonderful stay and will definitely be back when we need to get away from it all.

Wonderfully secluded and peaceful. Wake up to the sound of birdsong and do as little as you want. Keep an eye out for local lyrebirds and wombats.Very quaint period cottage with all the amenities that you need including log fire and a corner spa.

We've lost count on how many times we've been back to red dog retreat! With our recent 3 night getaway from sydney to this beautiful cosy sanctuary! The cottage is so cute: country kitchen, lounge, tv with dvds and cds, huge fairytale comfy bed, massive spa and equipped with so much more than your usual accommodation! Perfect for a romantic weekend or peaceful getaway! Directions and access to the property were great especially with my little corolla hatch.. A short drive into town but we didn't want to leave once we'd arrived, seated on the terrace with a glass of wine watching the mist roll in.. We saw lyrebirds, wombats and an echidna! Definitely recommend going for a walk to the red dog letterbox just before the sun goes down to see the wombats, kangaroos and the views..just magical! Thank you to the hosts for opening up such a beautiful retreat, we will be back... Again :)

What a great cosy, dog freindly get away in the mountains. Breathe the fresh air, Watch the local wildlife go right past your cabin and enjoy nothing but nature.

As most of us with fur babies know it is almost impossible to find a pet friendly place and we were so lucky to find the Red Dog Retreat. It exceeded our expectations and has been an absolute delight staying here for my brothers birthday. The cabin is immaculate and full of charm, the fire place, spa and bedding made for a perfect nights sleep and getaway with our little dog peanut. Sally is such an angel, I forgot to buy milk and it’s been raining sos she was kind enough to drop milk off in the morning.I highly recommend this place, and can’t wait to return! I hope you all enjoy it as much as have.

Set in a breathtakingly beautiful setting the Red Dog retreat is nestled in the bush down a steep windy driveway.The cottages are very rustic and quite cozy. Most of the essentials are included.We loved the views, the peace and quiet, the birds - especially the lyre birds and the wombats.Our very old dog was allowed to come with us which was good for all of us.The bbq was great and the kitchen cooking facilities are the best I have seen of any similar type of accomodation I have previously visited.The bathroom and toilet were a little bit run down.Overall this is a great weekend escape, easy driving from Sydney and close to beach, village, scenic and historic attractions.The proprietors, Sally and Ian make the booking process a breeze.Sometimes finding places like this can be a challenge, but the directions were spot on. The Information book in the cabin about the retreat and the surrounds was exceptionally comprehensive.

Two old rustic styled cottages very compact, you could say cosy. To get to the cottages you must go down a steep driveway which takes you below the tree line so there are no views. Sally the owner was extremely helpful in all aspects of the booking and during our stay. The cottage was equipped with cooking facilities, however linen and towels were extra. Within 15 minutes of Kangaroo valley, Berry and Cambewarra.

Lovely quiet cabin close to both Berry & Kangaroo Valley with Wombats in the surrounding bush!
