we ordered and told the staff we would wait in the dining area as they usually bring it out to you and weather was cold, they say ok no worries, we never heard our number be called and found our order sitting in the hot box, not sure how long it was in there but the fish was piping hot. The batter cod was cooked well, but the chips were dry and tasted like they'd been reheated. The oil also tasted like it needed to be changed...after having some great food here in the past, this was very disappointing...

The ladies behind the counter were really nice and helpful. Seafood was delightful and very well priced. Highly recommend this shack!PS, be careful of the friendly mudlark that will get as close to your legs to try and get the crumbs off the ground.

Quite possibly the worst “fish n chips” we’ve ever had. The chips tasted like cardboard (confirmed by our young son who would even eat the chips!)It was like they just reheated old cooked chips. The wait was at least 30 minutes and the food just god awful. We overheard other people saying the same but it was too late. They cooked our fish battered when we asked for crumbed. The whole experience has left us wondering we will get food poisoning.Do yourself a favour and don’t eat here.

Located on the main road at Tin Can Bay in a little old style building directly across from the water, the Snack Shack is home to the best fish n chips on the coast hands down!It has been far too many years of disappointing experiences trying to find an exceptional fish n chippery but it's been worth the wait with this gem.We chose the sea perch crumbed, it was fresh and full of flavour , (the crumb was a master-class on its own!) the generous fish portion is accompanied with real tasty chips ( not saturated in oil), crisp clean flavour and no fatty after tast. The fish and chips are served nicely presented with fresh lemon and tartare sauce and a friendly smile from the lovely staff. We have both agreed we are not going to try our luck with amy more bad fish and chips shops, but will drive up from our home in Noosa when the fish n chip urge hits.. This place was very busy, which is a good thing. We had takeaways on a public holiday. So their closing time was understandably early. I highly recommend placing a phone order. The food was excellent, and the fish was beautifully presented, over and above what you would expect from any fish and chips joint. The fish was beautiful and buttery and all the other items were good.

Ordered just a smoothie, they put it in the same queue as the fish and chips. 20 mins later I was still waiting, while the young cashier (who makes the smoothies) was just chilling, since there were food orders ahead of my drink order waiting to be cooked. Of course I asked for the manager and they made it straight away, but the lack of awareness was poor.

Ordered a couple of fish burgers and they were so good. Large piece of fresh, crumbed reef fish, perfectly cooked. Beautiful, fresh bun, quite large, meaning we were both full after finishing the meal. Still one of our favourite places to eat in the Cooloola region.
