Bar Beach
With so many beautiful beaches in Newcastle it's hard to pick the best. Bar Beach is usually my beach of choice. A little easier to access (compared to driving through the city to get to Newcastle Beach or Nobbys). It's a long beach, sheltered at one end. Showers and toilets and your standard takeaway (menu pictured).Photos on my review are from a chilled out Sunday, reading a book under my umbrella...

Bar Beach
Newcastle has an array of cool beaches and this is one of them... nice place to sit and chill! Great swimming with a natural rock pool! Love it here...

This beautiful beach stretches from The Hill, where The Anzac Memorial Walk overlooks it, all the way to the end of the foreshore, where Bar Beach Bowlo stands.You can continue walking following the foreshore, to Dixon Park Beach, & then Merewether Beach. The southern end of the beach is referred to as South Bar.It's popular with surfers, has a lovely kiosk with seats overlooking the beach, & is home to Cooks Hill SLSC.The beach also has a protected swimming area with nets.

Perfect at low tide to swim near the rocks and enjoy the calm water and fish - also a great kiosk and a walk around the rock pools

Beautiful beach, and in the winter sun it was absolutely amazing. Would love to come back in summer but I imagine it'd be really busy and hard to get a carpark.

Great beach. Fine sand. Very long with plenty of place to set-up even on the busiest of days. Lots of parking available.
