My parents were fortunate enough to be able to get respite at the facility coordinator in 2019. From previous personal employment, there were certain things I was looking for and Regis met those. Specifically, food, hygiene, and professional management. After my Mothers passing in early, 2020 COVID hit hard for me and specially my father. Dad went into lockdown. Regis Dandenong was a facility that did not have COVID. More to the point, staff were honest and respectful for the needs of the residents.Since then, I have had many concerns for my father. Management (Toni) had a special way of putting my mind at ease and responded and more importantly actioned my concerns promptly. There is no doubt in my mind that I would recommend Regis, with the current management, to anyone who needs support for their loved ones.

Wonderful and caring staff. My mum spent her last weeks here after moving her from another residence that was not looking after her properly. The staff were compassionate and caring. They gave my mum respect in her final days. All staff were great but one staff member Chris went out of her way to help my mum, me and my family through this traumatic time and gave me support and comfort for which I am eternally grateful. Thank you.

I'm an agency PCA/PCW, who has worked in multiple facilities (aged care, rehab, hospital), including Regis Shenley Manor, so my review is somewhat comparative.Unfortunately, Regis Dandenong facility-wise is an old building with rather small, very basic rooms. The bathrooms are very cramped (an issue for residents with mobility aid). The food will cover essential nutrition but is not nice (this affects the appetite of residents and affects their health). I was surprised by this due to working in Regis Shenley Manor previously (extremely nice food & reasonable sized bathroom). There is the general sense that Regis Dandenong is very short on funding and rather short-staffed (each time I worked there there was multiple - 3- 6 agency staff.) It's nice to have more shifts as an agency staff myself but I'm very aware that permanent staff is preferred for aged care where they can get to know the residents (their various behaviours, preferences, needs) properly. This is particularly important in facilities where the handover is verbal only (no handover sheets given to each care staff) which is the case for Regis Dandenong. The permanent staff I met are EXTREMELY hardworking and very familiar with residents and know how to work with their habits. I honestly feel impressed and sympathetic for the permanent staff here, as the workload is very demanding and they manage so much with very little time (This is true for most aged care but particularly here). Unfortunately this does mean little 1:1 time with residents, due to prioritising their basic needs (toileting, hygiene, nutrition) first. Several of the staff have worked here for 5+, 10+, and even 15+ years, which I respect a lot. The work they do here is easily worth double what they are currently paid per hour.If you currently/are considering to have a family member here, consider coming in to feed them some home cooked food/snacks (that fit their requirements, e.g. soft foods). If they do not speak English, consider bringing multilingual/visual flash cards as a communication tool. I do not recommend this place if they use mobility aids such as walker or wheelchair due to the bathroom size.If Regis Dandenong management see this, I recommend printed handover sheets for agency staff, revisiting the menu (actually look at it and ask yourself, would YOU eat this?), and though I'm aware this is unlikely, pay your permanent staff more. They absolutely deserve it.

My mum was not properly looked after here. I told staff that I thought she had a chest infection and they brushed me off for 3 days. They did not check on her in the night and she was found blue and unconscious in her room and rushed to hospital near death. There is nowhere near enough staff, and staff do not take patients wellfare seriously.
