Wagga Wagga Mental Health Recovery Unit

Absolutely disgusting care and regard for their patients. I waited 3 hours for my designated nurse to actually come see me about medication whilst I was having a full blown attack. She couldn’t care less as I was sitting in the common area ‘socialising’ so I was fine( the other patients were trying to console me because no one else was). Doctors don't actually listen to their Patients, and when they do get it completely incorrect or just don’t chart anything. Told 3 nurses on different occasions one day when I was feeling low that I did not feel safe and I wanted to harm myself. They just told me to remember my breathing techniques and left. Nobody cares here if you’re in the too hard basket. Next time I need help I’ll make sure not to bother to have the courage to task someone for help and deal with it my own way. Thanks for nothing and reminding me why I don’t seek help

The management are bullies to their staff and clients.

Was in the unit from November - Early January 2019Nurses treated me horribly, so did the patients, I'd report the harassment and nothing was done.One of the nurses even joked about killing my pets (Kyran I think his name was?)Got to the point that I starved myself to avoid people. Left 4 weeks in instead of the 8 I was supposed to be there. Was meant to go back in May 2019, but refused.Only making this review now, because I didn't know there was a review section till now.

Absolutely fantastic program with incredibly supportive staff. An experience that has definitely helped me in more ways than I can express. I cannot thank the people of the Recovery Unit enough for what they do and how they do it.
