Status Co.

Firstly, my hair stulist told me I HAD to have a wash (i was only booked in for a dry style) after I told her it was only a dry style. Then upon forcing me to have a wash, her boss came over and questioned me why I was getting a wash when I did not book it. I explained I tied to say no and she insisted this had to happen. The boss then had a go at her staff member infront of me and from this point on, the atmosphere was really uncomfortable. My stylist then took me over to blow dry my hair and was swearing about what had just happened whilst talking with her colleague whilst doing my hair. She was also very rude for the service and burnt my head with the blow drier a number of times. Mid way through my style (slick middle part with curls), she advised me she had no gel and couldn't do what she had agreed to doing. This left my hair parted wonky, fuzzy and crunchy with cheap hair spray as she had no gel. She told me go and buy gel if you want that look". What type or hair salon doesnt have the right products available? She then proceeded to do one of my friends hair how I had asked without telling her she cannot do it and caused the same disappointment.All of our makeup was completely different from what we asked and done to a very poor standard. The harsh lines between face to neck and completely different eye shadow colours are really disappointing. The makeup artists (except one) didn't even speak to us whilst having this service. Even one hair stylist had told my friend to ask for their makeup fixed due to how bad it was

I had makeup done which turned out fine, but I was made to wait 25 mins after my scheduled appointment time to be seen and the price was $25 more than advertised on their website. I queried this with the girl who took my payment and she said it was because the place had been refurbished so the prices have gone up. Why haven’t they been updated on the website? You would think after waiting so long to be seen they could at least honour the price I booked at. Disappointed

Firstly, nice salon, ladies doing the service where lovely, nice vibe however overall experience tarnished by multiple things. Incorrect prices on website (nearly $30 more than advertised) and outrageously expensive food (our $24 cheese platters jumped to $42 each). We book well in advance back in January so a notification of increased prices before arriving would have been appreciated. Also our hen asked for a half-up half-down style at the start of her 2hr appointment only to be told there was no time at the end to finish her hair. If there was not enough time it should have been stated at the start of the service. Would not recommend going here if you are after your moneys worth.

It pains me to leave a bad review but there wasn’t much about this experience that was good.I will firstly say, that the girl who did my hair was lovely, and friendly and I do believe she tried her best, however the end result was definitely not what I expected.The chair we sat on to have our hair done was only suitable for a size 8 butt, and so my size 12 self was sliding out of the chair the whole time. No where to rest your feet.My hair do was so bad that I pulled it out in the taxi on the way home and I showered and washed it myself when I got home.I’m not overly confrontational so I didn’t have the heart to tell the stylist I didn’t like it at the end when it was done.Overall I would not spend my money here again.

Lovely experience-very accommodating with a last minute reservation for my daughter and myself. Highly recommend!

I never write reviews but If i can help one person save their money then it’s worth it. I feel bad as the girl who did my hair was lovely however it was not what I wanted or what they advertise. I wanted a blow wave with volume and curls however instead they blew dry my hair STRAIGHT and then used a curling iron to curl. It did not look bad bad it was nothing I couldn’t have done myself. There was no volume at all which is the whole reason I wanted a blow wave. I was very disappointed with the result. The girl who did my hair told me she couldn’t speak English and I heard a colleague say that there is cash at the end of her shift to be paid. I feel maybe someone had called in sick so they asked this girl to fill in the shift. Maybe a bad day for them however it does not excuse them advertising to be a blow dry bar as per the photographs but instead offering a different service.

Status Co it’s a new place to visit!I made a booking at Status Co for my wife and she loved it. She felt so pampered by the artist who took care of her. Also very convenient as it is located in Barangaroo.

What a great find this place was ! I highly recommend Emma who styled my hair. She was fantastic. Very professional and skilled. Very happy with my results with Status Co. (previously known as Blown Lux. )

Had the best experience at Status Co - great space, great atmosphere and loved my makeup
