Booked because of 4.8 points. Vintage interior, open car park, free wifi. We stayed in room #6 was a bit stuffy, no air flow. Ans needs a new pint job in some parts of the room. Bed was not queen size, although Rakesh insisted it was. A bit uncomfortable to sleep in. But in general a good, clean hotel.

Great central location, well appointed room, styled in Mid Century Modern, lounge room to relax. Welcoming staff member. Downside, no disabled access, stairs only. The shower is hot and strong. The bathroom clean. It was 37 degrees the day we arrived, the building was cool. but

This place is such a hidden gem, highly recommend a stay here. The owners have decorated it in a really cool vintage, eclectic style and it’s very clean and comfortable. Lovely big bed and amazing new shower. There is a generous diy breakfast provided as well.

Surprised by this place. Almost like a classy adult backpackers. Rooms are nicely renovated with ensuites. Shared kitchen and dinning room are quite nice and above what you get at other places in the area at this price.

Rooms: ⭐⭐⭐Service: ⭐⭐Location: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Overall: 2.5⭐Very good location, nicely themed, well furnished for the theme.-1 for mattresses that were so old that they were sunken in the middle by at least 2 inches.-1 for extending the theme to odour. The smell wasn't exactly unpleasant, but was very musty; like an antique store, or your 96 year old grandparents' place.Breakfast was provided.-1 for requiring you to make it yourself. Yes that includes cooking your own eggs and no, there were no meats provided.-1 for requiring you to then wash your own pans, dishes and utensils.-1 for not having a dishwasher.

A very quirky and unique place to stay, plenty of character in the old building layout and they layer on top lots of kitsch decor and furniture (in a good way).Stairs up to reception, and you walk around the back to the car park which is secured overnight.Room size really suits a family / group, which suits us. The common kitchen, dining and lounge areas are large as well, and the simple 'help yourself' breakfast again suited our family.Don't expect 5 star and be prepared for the stairs / personality of the place and you will have a very comfortable stay.

Never judge a book by its cover. When we pulled into the carpark we said, well we’re here to see The Killers, just need somewhere to sleep. On entering that all changed. Friendly service, amazing and quirky furniture and decorations, a kitchen stocked with food for breakfast and a super clean and comfortable room. I think it is affordable by Hunter Valley standards, so we’ll worth a visit.

Far too many glowing reviews here for what is a pretty average accomodation spot. Only contact we had from the owner was a terse phone call en route, which had all the hallmarks of him wanting us to hurry it along; no semblance of staff at any other time. No ground floor rooms and steep stairs limited our ability to unload our vehicle. Furniture was quaint but not really in very good condition. Bathroom was clean, towels and beds were clean and comfortable. A little too close to the Cessnock Saturday night action too, sadly, and the below-average air-con meant the open windows allowed it all in. Good proximity to town and cafes, and definitely an adventure for those keen to avoid the beige motor inn vibe. But ultimately too expensive for what it is.
