Wish I could give 0 stars. So useless. Take our money every year and what do we get? I’m a non practicing teacher who still pays the annual registration fee (including my police check last year). I rang to ask for a copy of the police check (that I paid for) and was refused. I require it for something else and was told I’ll have to pay for another one. Ridiculous.

Disgraceful private organisation happy to take our money without offering a service. Slow sluggish staff are oblivious disrespectful.Greedy institutions, rude staff, awful service. It has been years operating the same canning way.. the weak government does not do anything. Who cares about teachers?

Zero help for somebody living overseas trying to register again. No overseas call number. I am an Australian citizen but I imagine many non-Australian citizens coming to work in Education would have a nightmare ever trying to get registration.Email's are not replied to.Leaves you in limbo without assurance you can take employment. Means you have to move back home (JUST SO YOU CAN CALL A NUMBER) meaning you miss employment opportunities and wait longer on a paycheck to come in while they probably take the full 6 weeks to do something that could be done in one.

I had a great experience calling VIT for some clarification. Jessica, the Registeration Officer was so helpful. Thumbs up to VIT for employing her.

I understand that these few weeks before term 1 are the busiest, but I submitted my application in November and I'm still waiting.I've already had a temporary VIT registration so VIT already has me information twice now and is still taking too long.I'm meant to start work next Friday, I've already uprooted my wife and our 4mo old baby from the city for a job in regional Vic which I won't have if this registration doesn't get done and the people on the phone can't tell me anything other than my application is progressing".Proper stressing right now..."

Have been awaiting approval for mutual recognition for several weeks. After waiting this time I was told my driver's licence has expired and that my middle name wasn't recorded on the form. Was hoping to have registration granted by the start of term 1 as I have a job offer but sadly have not heard anything

I wish I could give zero stars. They really don't care about you and are very unhelpful in regards to one re-registering to teach again, as I let my registration lapse and as a result, have to reapply and start from scratch and pay lots of money again. Poor communication on their part.

Terrible service! First, I was called saying my academic trascript needed a signature and stamp to be official (despite Monash not having that on their transcripts). Then, I found out from another person that it was actually because some of my masters units were incomplete as I was still studying of the time of application submission. I know this is allowed as I have checked with peers from my Monash cohort and they did the say steps as I did, however were approved. Monash is suppose to send through the final trascript saying that all my course is completed and update my application. This happened for my peers and why they got their registration. However, I was gaslighted by VIT staff that it was my fault and was told 90% of the time universities don't send it through. Which for Monash isn't true, so VIT just lied to me. As far as I was aware Monash did send it through as I was emailed by them stating this. VIT called me only a few days before Christmas to inform me of this, a time when universities are close. Not only do they have poor timing and are happy to ruin your holidays, but do not listen or know how to communicate the issue. I asked if Monash have not submitted the final transcript, if they just said they are yet to receive it then I will at least know that this is a Monash issue. But to tell me I must pay again for another official transcript when I shouldn't have to is ridiculous. If 0 star review was an option I would do that!

My friend and I currently live in Canada, and have gone through the VIT registration process so that we can teach in Melbourne. The application process only took us about 6 weeks and was approved within a week! My friend did not do her documentation properly and VIT helped her identify her mistakes and then approved her application a week later. I have also heard that they have gotten better at supporting teachers.
