We highly recommend Townsville Swim Academy. Whether it be for our 4 & 6 year old children or myself training for an open water event. As a coach Matt supports, guides and motivates you to reach your goals. The level of progression and confidence I have observed in my children swimming once per week is no other than amazing. Matt’s wife Emma is always so friendly, helpful and accommodating working behind the scenes. They make a great team and we are so happy to be apart of the TSA family.

My children have been swimming with Matt for over 5 years. We live across town but willing travel out of our way to attend Matt’s sessions. Great coach - kids have developed into great swimmers and enjoy every minute. We wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Matt Talbot is an exceptional coach, as a teacher and father of young children himself, he understands what children need in order to learn and perfect technique. The TSA community is also welcoming and supportive and the frequency and flexibility of squad sessions makes fitting swims into a busy family routine really easy.

You will never find a better coach anywhere. So patient with swimmers, so knowledgeable with all things swimming and cautious of not over training and causing injury. He puts his heart and soul into his coaching and Emma does an amazing job with all things administrative. The numbers speak for themselves.

We were very happy with Matt’s coaching of our girls in preparation for our swimming carnival. He is gentle yet has a high expectation of what each can achieve. We’ve been complimented by other coaches on the techniques learnt with Matt.

We have been with TSA for 7 years now. Our daughter has progressed from swim lessons as a small 5 year old to squad and competition training with Matt. We love Matt's training style. He knows his stuff. He is caring and very respectful of his students. No wonder they love and respect him back - it is why they do so well in competitions! Excellent swimming coach and very patient with both my kids. My son particularly struggled with coaches in the past but has really enjoyed Matt's coaching style. My kids went from dog paddle to competent freestyle in less than 2 terms. Fantastic support and communication from Emma, cannot recommend TSA more highly!
