I would like to thank you lovely ladies at Greensborough cake decorating shop for all your wonderful advice and helpful handy hints for baking, decorating and assembling my daughters wedding cake.I am a novice cake decorator and had never made red velvet mud cake until a few weeks ago. I have been into you shop a number of times for supplies and each time you have been so welcoming, hospitable and genuinely interested in what I needed and offered advice on how to achieve the best results.Thankyou so much beautiful ladies! Customer care and genuine concern such as you have given to me, on every occasion I have been in over these last few weeks, is both rare and very gratefully welcomed. Because of your assistance, and without even once trying to sell me a cake cooking or decorating class!, my daughter is going to have one very lovely 3 tiered wedding cake!You are running a great business and I shall be telling all my friends about your shop and outstanding customer service.Thanking you once againRegards Kerri

Whenever I go into this shop I have a negative experience whether it be not having the required products, the staff being very rude or both. I was wanting to get an edible image printed today and was told that it required 5 working days to complete which I found ridiculous. I then rang bake boss in glen iris who printed the image within one hour of me emailing the picture! Get a clue GCDC and improve your customer service before you have none. Doubt that I will return

Helped me complete my first ever three tier wedding cake.

This store unfortunately is one of the few in Melb that has so many products (albeit overpriced). The staff are slowwwww. I went in after calling first, for some advice, and what one person could have helped me with, it took one sales assistant to say to another who said to another 'did you speak to a woman on the phone?' Wedding a month away and after being told to keep paste flowers dry, safe, away from humidity (hello, this is summer) was given $50 worth of flowers in a box which couldn't be closed. I timidly asked for one which could be closed and it took about ten minutes. I didn't want to buy them cut stupidly did because I felt guilty I'd wasted their time.My main issue was that I was asking for assistance to put something on the top of a wedding cake, and the staff member (I believe the owner) just didn't give a s***, acted like I was asking her to create a leaning tower of pisa, and when I left the store, after paying+++ for minimal flowers to arrange myself ($20 for them to bend wire and tie a ribbon, which I didn't want anyway....) I saw a cake in the window with exactly what I was asking for on top!!!I have been to/called this store three times and each time been annoyed. First time I asked about covering a cake in fondant and got a really rude answer and scoffed at because I didn't know the ins and outs of fondant, and when I called to discuss a wedding cake to ask basic questions I was quite rudely told that no answers could be given without an appointment-I mean, if they regularly make three tier wedding cakes, a basic price should be a pretty standard answer. Last time I went I asked if they sold fondant (expecting advice about which was good for modeling, covering cakes or whatever) and the owner just stood behind the counter and said 'yes, it costs [I forget the price but it was ludicrous, I'm sure it was good quality though]' and left it at that.Lots of great products, though, virtually out of stock of most flowers and a lot of the flowers were poor quality. I've tasted the mud cake 'do-it-yourself' from a bag and it is pretty ordinary too.Will be going to shop on Swan St when it opens for supplies/ordering online, and to make my own flowers; admittedly I've done sculpting courses, and have decorated cakes before so am not too daunted, but wanted to make things easy for wedding-just not happy with the quality AND THE PRICE!! $3 for a blob squashed on to a bit of wire called a 'bud'??? Do they come from the kids' classes?Just a note, not all the staff have been rude, 2 have been helpful, they just kind of seemed to 'pass the buck' on my last visit when they could have helped me.
