The food was absolutely delicious but pricey, totalling $276 (which was as expected). The view was nice and the service was good.

Lunch was booked in April for a special occasion and it was indeed special. The setting , staff and service were great and the food was fully up to expectations. The 4 adults had the tasting menu with matched wines and the 2 children the unusually good Kids Menu. Both the quantity (generous but just right) and the quality of the tasting menu food and wine were excellent. The variety of dishes and the ingredients chosen for each were perfectly balanced. We travelled some distance but it was well worth it. The only complaint was that this gem of a restaurant was not full! Do yourself a favour and make a booking. Highly recommended.

Seven of us met to celebrate a friend's 80th birthday. The food is somewhat expensive (about $50 for mains). However, my lamb was just delicious and worth the cost. It was so filling that I didn't need dessert. I am going to ask if they just do dessert and coffee. Or the next time I will do entree and dessert. Absolutely recommended for those special occasions!!!

Make sure you stop!! The restaurant is worth changing your plans to ensure you dine here. Food was exquisite, wine was great, location was beautiful and service was lovely!

Tasty food, exceptional one pairing. Lovely service had a couple of large tables, so there was a delay in some of the items but no big deal. Nice staff and good recommendations.

Honestly, it's one of the best restaurants I have been to.The portions are bigger than most restaurants of this price point. The entree, main and deserts were perfect. They were patient and accomodating with our off menu cocktail requests.The waitstaff, bartenders, Barista and chefs made for an exceptional experience.The dishes were really well put together and tasted amazing.I couldn't recommend this restaurant enough. I wish I could give The River Moruya 6/5 stars.

The best French cuisine I tried in a regional city. It was a beautiful Sunday lunch with friends and family. I would always recommend thud place if you pass by or come to the south coast.

Nestled off the main street in Moruya is the gem. What a delightful dining experience. Booking online made it super easy to choose a spot. The deck overlooks the river, which has lovely view of the water and the opposite bank and hillside in the distance. We opted for the 5 course tasting menu. *see attached picture for each course detail.It was a substantially quieter night for the restaurant, which did not effect the atmosphere at all. Our waiter was attentive but not overbearing and was helpful with the wine selection. (There is a paired wine option with the 5 course - but one of us had to drive - maybe next time!)The food was on par with restaurants we've dined in, in cbd Melbourne etc. Everything was exceptionally priced and we couldnt fault anything.Highly recommend for a special occasion or just wanting a really nice meal out. The tables are a little smaller in thw deck area, so more tables can enjoy the view.Unsure if I would bring younger kids to this location as its does lend itself to a more adult palate and atmosphere.Definitely will return next time we are in the area.

It's a lovely location with great food, service didn't quite match the standard of the food but they seemed understaffed for the number of patrons, not an unusual occurrence these days and they were perfectly pleasant.

Hidden away down a back street of Moruya is this little hidden gem. The River Restaurant has stunning views across the Moruya River to the mountains beyond which make this alone a reason to add this restaurant to your South Coast itinerary. Then the food arrives and there is no doubt that this is one of the leading restaurants of the region. Making the most of the South Coast local produce the menu is outstanding paired with local wines. The service is impeccable. We highly recommend taking some time out to enjoy this experience.
