WINSIG

Retro fitted a Winsig to replace winegard sensor after a fair bit of research. First caravan trip since fitting and very happy to get 32 channels in a very hilly poor reception area when others around me had no watchable TV.

I purchased a Winsig Gen 4.0 antenna and was working very well when tested in a heavily saturated VHF environment near Brisbane. However, i took the antenna away with me to Coolum and could not receive any UHF signals both horizontally and vertically polarised. All the other caravans around me were getting a signal with their Winegard HV sensar antennas with ease, but the winsig was not. The area is found to have prime to fair UHF coverage and i could not receive anything, i tried aiming at multiple transmitters but could not get a signal. When i got home i contacted winsig and i was told that the winsig was more superior over the Winegard and was told a return address, so before i returned the antenna i continued testing at home changing cables, TVs and different locations. I could not even pickup the local UHF transmitter (Horizontally Polarised - Brisbane South) all i could pickup was the VHF signals from Brisbane. So, i returned the antenna to winsig at my own expense to obtain a refund, as it was faulty and was not working as advertised as a UHF/ VHF horizontally and vertically polarised antenna, with a boosted gain of 24-32db. They said they had processed the refund but did not include any postage costs for me to send it back. Claiming there was nothing wrong with the antenna and they did not have to. Which is not what the ACCC states on there website as fair trading. Do not purchase this antenna, they are advertising it as it can pick up UHF Horizontal and Vertical signals, which with the one i received did not. I was able to pick up the signals with a much cheaper 12.5db antenna (Kingray (GME) Kpanellte) in the same location and technique without even boosting the signal. If you want a caravan specific antenna buy a Winegard, they are much better and receive signals very easily. Its not hard to see that they work, just go to any caravan park, and look around you will see heaps of them on top of people's vans.****In reply to the below response, i understand that Winsig is a small company, but unfortunately the technology is not there yet. This is the 4th generation of antenna design, and i even tested it with a terrestrial TV signal meter at home and was getting a signal quality of 100% but the signal strength was dropping in and out at between 0% and at most 17% UHF. Compared to the 100% quality and signal with respect to the VHF signal. With respect to the signal at Coolum, the inbuilt signal booster may have been over boosting the signal above 80 dBµV? With regards to the policy, i understand, but that is not in line with ACCC guidelines for faulty and or products that do not meet there guarantees. Just writing about my experience, and opinion.

I purchased the Winsig 4.0 Retrofit 5G Antenna kit back in November 2022. I swapped out by brand new year Jayco supplied antenna as I have always been unhappy with those. It was easy to fit and I was keen to see how it performed. I have just returned from a van park that I regularly go to and have always got poor reception at. I wanted to do a direct comparison. The Winsig is fantastic. All channels and a crystal clear picture. No more pixilation. I am very happy that this product does what it says it would do. Thanks to Andrew and his team and Winsig. Purchased the Winsig 4.0 Retro fit antenna to replace our old Winged antenna. Followed the instructions and installed it myself, which with my limited handyman abilities is a minor miracle. Works an absolute treat. Picks up stations where we were limited before and you don't have to go back and forth trying to point it in the right direction. Sits on the old Antenna base and takes up less space. Would well and truly recommend to anybody looking for a new Antenna.

I wanted to fit a UHF vertical polarised TV aerial to my campervan, but because of the layout of the roof, this was not possible with the existing commercially available antennas. Andrew from Winsig provided and fitted a technically brilliant solution at a very modest price. My TV aerial system now works better than the original, and has been upgraded to receive the full spectrum of stations, including UHF. Full marks to Winsig.

I was looking to replace my Winegard sensar antenna to correct poor reception, pixilation and loud audio chirps. I initially called Andrew and Don and discussed their Winsig3.1 retrofit after reading a discussion in a online forum. After a bit more thinking, I ordered the unit with the Broadband antenna online. It arrived in the next few days, well packed. I followed the instructions and the installation took me a few hours, as I am a bit slow. Fitted nicely. We travelled to a rural area on the Murray in the following weeks and the difference was amazing. All our TV reception problems were gone. Dimboola and Sale, excellent reception. Whilst driving, our phones will drop back to 3G but the Winsig Broadband appears to hang onto 4G as it provides a faster load than the phone using mobile data. Overall, extremely happy and whilst a little more than the other available antennas, it is I believe worth the money and recommend the product.Update SEP18. I had the need to contact Andrew and Don at Winsig on Friday afternoon to ask a few questions. Did this by email at 1630 hours Melbourne time. Not expecting a response till next week, I received the response received at 0800 next morning, Saturday. Many thanks for such great service and product. Appreciated highly. Ian.

Great product, went from one channel on the old Winegard to 22 channels, can't complain about that.Andrew was more than helpful in firstly helping me make my choice and secondly supplied a detailed email of useful information on the unit. ;=))

Just installed a Winsig 4.0 retrofit to my caravan and am blown away by the improvement in reception-currently receiving 60 channels (TV and radio). Caravan is in my backyard and reception is far superior to that received in the house through a traditional rooftop antenna. Contemplating fitting a Winsig antenna to my existing roof top mast. #veryhappycamper
