I am a 71 year-old retired male who has dealt with government agencies all his life, some good some not so, for whatever reason.Recently I had some (self-inflicted) issues with my pension entitlements that I needed to resolve. Being in Canberra I decided to discuss my problems with the Centrelink staff at Gungahlin in an attempt to fix the problem caused mainly by my absentmindedness.I would like to go on record as being extremely impressed with the service of all the staff I encountered at Gungahlin Centrelink office. Their courtesy, friendliness and empathy towards my predicament and me were noticeable.However, one staff member in particular deserves mention for his willingness to listen attentively to my story, provide me with the correct relevant legal advice and further assist me to remedy my problem, he is a credit to Centrelink. Sadly, I cannot remember his name, he is however a Sikh member of our community (and in all probability the only Sikh employee at Gungahlin Centrelink office).It is too easy for members of the public, to deride, decry or devalue the endeavours of those working in public service offices, when things do not go their way; and then forget when the assistance provided is fair and equitable. I therefore wish the manager and staff at Gungahlin Centrelink office to know of my admiration and gratitude for their professional management and resolution of my issue.RegardsW.A.J

Terrible place with terrible heartless people more interested in decor of the office than people well being. Driving some to take desperate measures.

I got in early and didn't have to wait long at all. I got served quickly to register my newborn child and the lady who helped was most helpful and clear about the whole process. The lady at the entrance also knew who and how to direct me so it was real easy.

Most friendly staff. Looks there is a long queue, but not everyone came for same service, so the waiting time is acceptable.

I was filling the form at the computer desk without informing me that I should write the form in another place, then another female staff with glass came forward to me saying let me “leave here quickly” to another place with some rude accent. I was just some confused about the impolite service. Should treat people with a gentle way ...it’s was the first time to centrelink feel they treat people just as component of the product line at least I reckon...

Very helpful, prompt and knows exactly what needs to be done. Very fast and efficient

Staff were very helpful

Went in today to sort out a few things I’d be road blocked from doing online at home, I only waited about 20 minutes to be seen, Patrick helped me and sorted out everything for me with ease. Patrick did a really great job! Employee of the month for sure!
