Hay Water Tower Art

Very popular stop over in hay, beautiful to see the tanks on a good sunset or as the sun comes up and showers the tanks in golden light. Finding a good angle for a picture can be a bit tricky due to powerlines.

The paintings on these water towers was extremely well done, and pays tribute on a town that went to war. Stories of the people painted on the water tower are displayed on information boards, and the area is quite peaceful, with very few visitors at our time of visiting. Plenty of space to park and some nice photo opportunities.

Beautiful art work with signage to explain it's history and connection to Hay. The stories behind the the people depicted in the paintings are sad and inspiring.

Nearly every eligible male from Hay went to the Great War.In World War 2, 300 men enlisted and women enlisted in the Australian Army Nursing service. 50 men did not return.It was reported in The Riverine Grazier on 28th May 1940 We are sure no district in Australia is more loyal than this district. That was amply demonstrated in the South African war

A fantastic read, even if your not a historical buff! These peoples stories are amazing! And along a wonderful walking & bike path of the town.

A great way to see the effort and the history of the town of Hay, The plaques in front tell the story of those faces painting on the tower, and the number of people who enlisted, most of the men from the town.

Stop and check this out don't just drive past. I've seen a few silo painting but I have not seen the colours like on this one. It's a worthy tribute to the service men and women of australia. Easy access for everyone
