Lake Magic

Interesting (almost pee coloured) lake to stop at for a few minutes to stretch your legs

The gypsum salt lake transform from dusk to dawn with differing colours as the sun transcends the sky

Beautiful but depend on weather and time.

Beautiful resort, have stayed here a few times whilst on the way to the Holland Track. The salty lake is fabulous for sunrise/ sunset photography but Ive yet to see the water level high enough for the catamaran to be used.

.. A LOT of mozzies! Mosquito spray is a must. Very cool reflections on the water at sunset. Will be going back again to try get a really nice sunset or sunrise

A bit smells.....but amazing view with Green coloured when we were there !

Expected more! Looks like some work is going on so hopefully will increase attraction. Too much fly, expected though.

Nice place to visit and walk around

I visited Lake Magic at Hyden after an over night stay at wave rock cottage. It was a cold windy winter morning. Grey looking skies threatening to drizzle and rain. It did when we arrived at the wildlife sanctuary. Lake magic is next to the wave rock resort which are chalets built nearby. You can walk to Lake Magic if you stayed at the Wave Rock resort. Very quiet and serene. A natural salt lake with gypsum base. You can swim in it, and you won’t sink. Recreational lake, great for a dip during summer, but too cold in winter. We just walked along the sandy lake. Nothing green grows there. 5 minutes drive to The Wave Rock.
