Shocking experience with this builder, three months after handover. I have a free standing bath at my front door that is yet to be installed, I have walls that are not straight, doors that don’t close, and endless time off work waiting for trades to come in a fix problems only to have them say there not turning up. Carpet that was laid incorrectly and damaged, then to fix the problem they cut square patches in the rooms and replace only that section, I was told today “that is all there required to do. My list of issues with this house is so long I would be here for days. The problems and issues were raised before handover and as the issues still remained I refused to take handover a number of times only to have them leave the keys in the kitchen cabinet and notified by a text message. Over all the finish to the build is way below par. I can now understand why plantation are a cheaper builder to others. It really is true you get what you pay for. Save your money and build with someone else.! that would be my recommendation to anyone considering this builder. Those who have signed on the dotted line, good luck.

I would not recommend plantation homes tobuild your new home. We built with plantation homes in 2007 and we have had ongoing failures in workmanship since this time. Our biggest problem we currently have is the ceilings in every room have dropped which in turn is causing the cornices to also drop. Basically every ceiling and cornice needs to be replaced. The ceilings have dropped, nails are exposed and visible and I’m concerned that until we can afford repairs out roofs are going to completely collapse on us and cause injury or even death. From very early after taking ownership the floor skirting pulled away from the walls and large gaps are visible. Paint was peeling off. We have walls that are not square and uneven. My advice is to not waste your money on a Plantation homes. Their workmanship is very poor, your home will not last and you will be up for thousands of dollars in ongoing repairs to correct the poor workmanship and cheap shortcuts. Their paint work is very poor quality, their fixtures and fittings are cheap and rubbish. Don’t waste your money and find a builder who offers quality as in the long run it will save you a lot of money and stress.

After wasting 6 months with other two builders getting quotes we came across Plantation homes. Probably the most transparent builder in the industry at the moment. The admin process was great. 2 Months from signing a contract we now have a slab already. Our site supervisor has been communicating regularly with us since the start.I hope that we won’t have many delays in these challenging times and looking forward to our dream home getting built on time.I would highly recommend plantation homes to anyone considering building.

This is my first time building a house, I heard Plantation Homes would be a best place to land. However, the experience so far has been a bit disappointing and frustrating. After starting all the appointments from last June 2022, still Plantation homes do not have any idea when our construction could take place. Many appointments and many many many iterative docs to sign. We thought it was all set to go on Nov, but until now, there is always some work/docs Plantation missing. Scary journey awaits us, hope they could do better.

Response to screen shots below - Yes, the Home Assurance team did contact my partner Nick, just before your replied to his review, good to know that all we have to do to get a response is leave a one star review, and whilst you statement is correct “The Home Assurance team have been in contact with you and attended to address your concerns on a number of occasions, and they have also recommended a remediation option, offered as a gesture of goodwill, which we hope you will respond to shortly.” Your responses neglects to point out how many emails and calls Nick had to make to get the response in the first place, and just to be clear, when He was advised your your “remediation option, offered as a gesture of goodwill, which we hope you will respond to shortly” of which I kindly told Frank two and a bit weeks before He left his review, that he could stop taking about it then and their because it was honestly a joke. Here is a list of issues we have:- 2 separate leaks in our ensuite (photos attached of one of the leaks, all photos on separate days, water came out nonstop for weeks)- water coming Through the ceiling of our walk in linen cupboard- Half the laundry ceiling having to be ripped out and replaced due to the water damage - now we have fear of mild elsewhere…- exterior render not fully painted- front door doesn’t open properly- floor tiles with to much fall- niche tiles have to much fall (what is the point of paying for a niche if you can’t use it!!!)- Skirting coming of the wall because the flooring was laid incorrectly- carpet and underlay has gone moldy and lost its stick due to the leak (see photos of how the carpet has been left after being “fixed”)- tile waste have had to be sanded down to avoid cutting feet of them- render has fallen offGrout had had to be stained with a charcoal dye to try and match the original colour due to discolouration from the leak- waterproofing fails in 2 locations- holes in the grout throughout the bathroomsI have a video of my shampoo bottle constantly falling of our niche in all different positions, but I can’t up lid videos - Plantation have seen this in person and said that the solution would be to not use your niche and to place our things on the floor. This is not to mention our water bill which plantation are yet to pay for, nearly 1000L of water on average used each day in a house occupied by 2 people who are only home from 4:30-5pm onwards each evening, that’s the equivalent to 6.5 people using water based of unity waters average. But of course plantation are whipping their hands of this as well. For the past 19 weeks (since we first notified you of the problem) my mental health has perished to the point I have had to take weeks of work at a time. Not because of the stress of owning a house but because as soon as we payed our last invoice you did kick us to the kerb and you honestly couldn’t care less. This is our brand new house that we put all out savings into, invested so much time into planning all to find that we are left with an incomplete house with serious problems that you didn’t feel the need to acknowledge, let alone fix. When you did finally decide to come fix some of the issues (after weeks and weeks of emails and calls with no reply) that state you left the “resolved issue” in is astounding to the point that other trades have been in and said that if they left a client house like this they would be fired on the spot. To be told that by other qualified trades about our newly built house by “Queensland’s no.1 builder eight years in a row” is heartbreaking to say the least. All I can say is that before you sign up with plantation, do your research, some of the other builders may be more expensive, but their is a reason for that, as the old saying goes - you get what you pay for.the next time we have to get your attention won’t be over a review platform…

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY! They are building the house next door to us. When they excavated the site, their compactor vibrated the foundations of our established home cracking our plaster ceilings in multiple places. The supervisor at the time, Dan, stood on our verandah and acknowledged the cause of the damage. We waited patiently for 7 months to the plastering stage for next door and had to chase them 3 times. Finally got the manager to attend on site and his first words were “it is hard to prove that they caused the damage and that they have no legal responsibility to us”. We were advised to take it up with the QBCC which we would have done 7 months earlier had we not trusted them to do the right thing at the time most convenient to them.

To whom it may concern,I am angry/ frustrated/ stressed and disappointed from plantation homes for not providing the actual update what is happening behind door for the reason for delay for built process. The site managers changes in between and the pause on the built. As per the ex supervisor update the new built roof should have been completed by 22/5 and it was upsetting to see nothing been done besides the slab which was completed 6 weeks ago. This is very unprofessional and unacceptable from the big company like plantation homes who claims to be the best. I demand some answers from someone higher to know what is actually happening.I was supposed to feel safe of being in good hands but unfortunately i am experiencing opposite
