I was really reluctant to leave this review because I don't usually do this kind of thing but I feel like this has to be said. As far as the actual venue goes, I could not rate it highly enough. The grounds were amazing, food was great and our photos came out wonderfully! However, if you want exceptionally smooth and accommodating service, Emu Bottom is not for you. I found the lead up to the wedding really difficult. The venue was really hard to work with. The communication was beyond atrocious- with me, with my vendors and between themselves. I was continually reaching out to clarify potential changes to the venue (which I had found out incidentally), of which I received 'flakey' replies, saying that they couldn't clarify this. Only to then find out one week before my wedding that the aesthetic of the reception venue was completely changed, completely different to what I had viewed and paid for and I had to change my table arrangements to 'fit their new tables'.The set up was difficult as I wasn't able to bring anything to the venue the day prior and something as simple as bringing 1 flower arrangement inside after the ceremony to have for the reception was too much to ask. The florist wasn't able to find anyone when she arrived, so she just began finding her way around and setting up what she could.Once we arrived, after a briefing with the celebrant, the events manager attempted to “clarify” the bridal party procession which contradicted the celebrant in EVERY element, creating confusion and frustration in what should have been an exciting entrance. When the bridal party entered the reception, we went straight to cutting the cake, shortly followed by speeches. The bridal table had no drinks to toast with, so it was a little awkward to 'raise your glass' with empty water glasses. I understand that it was bar service, but this was a little disappointing and embarrassing. Then, on the night, the ramp of the woolshed, which was the main entrance to the reception space collapsed with elderly family members standing on it (thank god no one was hurt!). Leaving my guests needing to walk through the back entrance, which at times was quite dangerous with the thick, unstable stones. I completely understand that the building is old, that's the whole reason we chose it, but a phone call or even email would have been appreciated to follow up and check that everyone was ok.It's just such a shame because as I said, the venue its self was stunning and despite the stress, we had the most magnificent day

Just had my wedding at Emu Bottom Homestead over the weekend and I can’t thank them enough. Alex was amazing leading up to the wedding, with helping us organise everything even coming up with things that I wouldn’t have even thought of and stressed about last minute. Come to the week and day of the wedding Louise was amazing at making sure I was able to have plenty of time to set up the venue and coordinated everything for the day. From the moment I got there I didn’t have to stress about anything as everything was done for me and I could enjoy the day ahead of me. The food was amazing and all the staff would always check in to make sure that this day was everything that I could of asked for. Thank you to everyone here for making my dream wedding come through. Without you all it would not be possible xx
