A classic Melbourne bookshop with excellent coverage of subjects. Lots of hardbacks too which makes a change. Make sure you head upstairs! Very helpful staff and an excellent online reservation service.

Cute little bookshop with an excellent selection of books. Overlooks the busy city streets. Cozy space for a quick read while you decide on which book to take home with you. Definitely ‘content’ with this bookshop! ☺️

As much as I love this place, the news coming out of it, and the email that the owner sent his employee was unacceptable. You would think being around that many books you would be educated and not resort to stupidity, but here we are..

If you're looking for that special hard to find or a significate best seller “Hill of Content” will meet your need. I ordered a specific kids book and they got it in within days, great service! It’s a really good place to just browse and you’re sure to find something of interest.

One of my all time favourite bookstores. This shop has a great collection of recent works along with an excellent classics section. You never feel rushed browsing through this store and the staff are always friendly and happy to chat books.

I really appreciated the amazing customer service I received from Natasha. So I'm absolutely appalled she was fired for discussing her salary. Disgraceful act by management.

I shopped here a few years ago and really liked the place. Now it’s regressed in to a business that does not abide by the law and punishes people trying to make a living for the reprehensible crime of discussing how much they’re paid. Hopefully the courts throw the book at this business. Pardon the pun. Perhaps they should change their name to ‘Hill of Contempt’ as an accurate reflection on how they treat their staff.

The staff went above and beyond in assisting me with accessing a very old Collins Books voucher. They listened, had empathy and 'went in to bat' for my request. I can't praise them highly enough. Special thanks to Nicole for seeing it through and providing my books.

I love this bookstore very deeply.. this place feels like a personal library with its setting and interior and vibe. They have wide variety of collections and the location is just across the park, lovely bookstore.. I always remember this place even now after going back to my hometown after 14 years from Melb..
