ELEPHANT BRIDGE HOTEL
Found the free camping area opposite on Wikicamps and stayed there and had a couple of drinks and some food af the Hotel to support locals. Nice friendly and professional staff. Only had entrees foods which were nice. Loved sitting out the front with our dogs watching the world go past. This place oozes ambience and is interesting inside and well worth the time to stop to have a look and break the drive.

Interesting building with lots to look at on the walls, play area for children behind the hotel. Had a coffee, hot chocolate and a couple of friands. The staff were friendly. Will return for a meal on another occasion.

Lovely pub all round! Beautiful old building, quirky decor, nice people. Good wine choices. The dinner menu has one vegan and one vegetarian option as well as about 7 meat/fish choices, really nice. Spent a very pleasant early autumn evening by the fire.

We were very enthusiastic about our visit for lunch. Setting special, decor steeped in character- really impressive. Sadly, our meal on the day was disappointing. My soba noodle dish was basic and lacked flair, noodles were soggy, stuck together under a few token leaves and 2 pieces of thin pickled ginger( from a packet l suspect). My partner had the steak sandwich. Turkish bread was dry, steak was tasty, chips were excellent- hand done, dry and crisp. Young waiter served meal with a hoodie on under his apron and seemed uncertain. Clientele dressed for occasion generally so clearly the experience should have been more polished. Noise was excessive particularly from table near fire who seemed to forget their manners at times. This review has some honest grumbles but given the potential of Elephant Bridge Hotel a few tweaks are called for to do the venue justice!

What a gorgeous place to have lunch on a Sunday!We have been driving past this pub for 45 years and finally got to see inside!It is full of history and lovely furniture!The food is excellent and the staff are friendly and helpful!

My second visit to this beautiful Darlington B&B. Karin continues to provide a flawless experience through her cooking and hospitality all in the setting of the stylishly restored iconic Australian pub. The beds are as comfortable as a 5 start hotel and each room in filled historic charm. There is no dinner menu but if you ask at the time of booking you may be able to have Karin cook for you, a meal that is well worth asking for. She will discuss price at the time.
