Food was impeccably balanced, service was friendly and efficient considering there was only one waiter for the entire floor (inside and outdoors). I had smoked mushrooms with fried polenta and my partner in crime ordered crispy corn fritters. Oh, boy were the critters crispy! Though if you're after some heat from chili/jalapeno, it's very mild.The sauces on both are the unsung heros that makes Sassafras' food stand out amongst other cafes in the neighborhood. The dishes overall is very well balanced in terms of texture, flavour and rich is countered by refreshing inclusions on the plate, genuinely enjoyed the food. Only downside was that the asparagus was over cooked (for us), not a fan of asparagus jerky.Portion is perfect for small eaters like us but there are plenty of optional extra$ for bigger eaters.

Always an enjoyable outing at Sassafras - super delicious food and coffee, and love that the cafe is dog friendly so there's always some cute dogs to say hi to. It was a little cold for brekkie on the weekend, so we asked to be seated inside which they were able to do. Make sure you book as it gets busy for brekkie, and if you get cold, ask for an inside table as the courtyard had no sun at 8.30 am!

Food was delicious and full of flavour, considering the food and portion sizes it is on the slightly pricier side but very yummy and excellent service!

Really nice place and couple of tables that are great for larger group. The overall service is friendly and the food was delicious. The place actually extends well towards the back.The cakes and pastries is not quite on par with the food on the menu.The variety of drinks is a treat and the smoothies are worth the drop in.

Paddington always surprises, Sassafras of Paddington has such a Relaxing atmosphere, take your time and relax and eat wonderful food, sip great coffee! Can’t wait to try the new yummy dinner menu, cocktails and tacos and more, Launching Saturday the 6th of May, The venue is funky inside and decorated with vibrant local art work for sale.

A surprising little place for sure! Had the best Eggs Benedict EVER! Served on homemade hash browns with an incredible relish. Went with a group of ladies for lunch. They had a variety of sandwiches and were all delighted with the taste! We sought out the chef Chris to let him know how pleased we were. A slice of home comfort with a scrumptious twist!

Not sure if they were having an off day today but the service was extremely slow. When the food finally arrived the coffee was great so lots of praise for that. The Reuben sandwich was also very tasty but the big disappointment was the rustic fries. They just appeared to be packet fries. If the. Menu had just said fries then that would have been our expectations but rustic you sort of expect something special

WOW! Such a cute little café! Delicious food, glorious coffee and amazing array of baked goods to choose from! It's has a cute and quirky vibe and who doesn't love an adorable takeaway cup, especially with a puppa on it?!? I'll definitely return and look forward to trying something new!

A great first visit to this quirky and friendly cafe for brunch. Definitely has a great vibe and I guess they have lots of crowds at the weekend. I had poached eggs on toast with avocado & bacon on the side with a mango smoothie . All very enjoyable. Particularly liked the themed/special events they put on like the smoke night with bbq foods -wish I was in town longer to try it.
