Pictures can’t justify the beauty of this place. Untouched hidden gem, this walking track is not on any map, not any sign posted (we have passed by Murrurundi for many times but didn’t even know about this place). Simply beautiful : nature, cave, rocks formations, and the sunset - Amazing! Highly recommended!

Entrance to the Eye of the Needle walk and lookout which provides a full view of the town of Murrurundi.Half an hour up steep and in parts narrow landscape but rewarding on top and 2 hours loop in total.

An easy enough walk, good for the whole family. Only takes a few hours. Definitely requires good walking shoes though. The trail is good but very steep and slippery in places. Worth a look and there are camp and picnic facilities including tables and toilets.I did this while carrying a 2 month old baby in a sling carrier.

5 minute drive from centre of Murrurundi. Large grassed area with toilets and covered picnic tables. Is also the trailhead for the Eye of the Needle walk leading to a Lookout over the township. The walking track is in need of repair and challenging in sections but is useable with some care and degree of fitness. Would recommend carrying a coat on cool days as can be windy and cold on the top of this rocky outcrop. Lookout provides good overview of Murrurundi and neighbouring range.

It has a great walk. Did the Eye of the Needle" and the cliff walk. It was only just over an hour to do both. I little steep at the start then was pretty easy going."
