Adam and the SouterBuilt team renovated our heritage house on a tricky site. The quality of their work and site management was exceptional. We also appreciated Adam’s advice on how to maximize the house’s thermal efficiency following passive house principles (we recently had a large groups of friends over on a day well over 40, and with just ceiling fans were more than comfortable).The team were professional, thorough, flexible and worked with us and our architect to build our dream, and were happy to provide us with advice and guidance over and above what would be expected.We would not hesitate to recommend Adam and the team to anyone with a heritage house, or a builder who believes in quality and the ongoing performance of the house, long after they leave the site.

Souter Build made a complicated job seem easy. Not only did they made the entire process of taking the wall between our living room and kitchen down and setup of new kitchen island as mess free as possible and they ensure the place was liveable all the way through. The attention to detail and professionalism of Adam and the team were outstanding and highly recommend them.

The Souter Built team has done a fantastic job in turning our dilapidated fibro house into a delightful and charming coastal cottage. Their attention to detail and the quality of everything they do is unsurpassed in our experience. They maintained excellent communication with us throughout the renovation offering excellent suggestions and advice. They spared no effort in preserving original parts of the house where possible and merged new and old features seamlessly. This included the labour-intensive restoration of the original floorboards, augmented with a floor extension, and beautifully restoring original doorknobs. They transformed a dilapidated fireplace into a modern-looking interior design feature and repurposed bricks from old driveway into a feature step and garden edging. With a freshly restored and painted roof as well as walls, and a newly added deck perfect for entertaining, the house has been truly transformed, far exceeding our expectations. We recommend Souter Built to anyone looking for top quality build by a smart and friendly team of highly skilled builders that is mindful of heritage and sustainability.
