Mimi made an absolutely gorgeous cake for my Mum's 60th birthday party. It was pretty last minute but she pulled out all the stops for us and made a really stunning and special cake. It was super tasty too. Highly recommend.

Our Wedding cake was made by Mimi and it was beyond amazing. The cake not only looked fantastic it also tasted great and we had so many compliments from our guests.Mimi is a beautiful lady and very helpful. I have had my wedding cake made by Mimi and it was beyond this world, the prices are reasonable and the product is fantastic! Since then I have been to the shop several times for coffee and cake (the chocolate smell wafting onto the street is what drew us in) and the service and food have been great.I have to say that I too found Mimi a bit cold towards customers initially (it could be her air of sophistication, something which I experienced heaps in Switzerland as well), but hey when you get to know her she is very friendly and really.. Do you want a new friend or do you want a fantastic cake that everyone will remember, your choice :-)

I have visted Classic Cakes once per week for the last year. The owner and staff have always been friendly, good service and good fare. I suspect the other reviews are from a competitor or someone witha gripe against a person in the business.

We all know there is no pleasing some people who relish with their one star reviews BUT Mimi pleased me! For my mother's 90th, instead of serving the traditional slice of cake, each person received a Classic cup Cake with an exquisite fondant rose on top (mum's middle name is Rose) with a lit candle which each guest blew out after singing happy birthday. I've had outstanding cakes before in Paris, St Tropez, Barcelona and Rome, and I can assure you that Mimi's cup cakes were right up there with the best. Light, fluffy, buttery, perfectly iced it would be a sin to stop at one - just as well I had ordered 10 more than I needed. They were eaten before we even got to mum's lunch. Mimi is a business woman and you engage her on terms for good reason. Like all business people she has been caught short before but she is an absolute delight and most passionate at what she does - and she is VERY GOOD AT IT. I'm going back for more cup cakes just for myself!

It smelled amazing but truly old, stale cake is all we got. Ordered pear and raspberry cake and a chocolate brownie. Pear cake was stale and boring and no cream on the side to alleviate. The brownie could barely be cut with a fork it was so hard. Could have been warmed up to disguise but no! Our pot of tea came without a strainer and then strainer came without a dish so I had to plonk it on the table. Pretty disappointing and guess what...no they didn’t ask if we enjoyed it!!!!As we left I noticed that nothing on the aframe sign matched what was in the cabinet. No cupcakes, lemon meringue etc...Guess they spend all their time on made to order but you guessed it I won’t be getting one.One good thing...funny jokes abounded until we were nearly crying about stale hard cakes! Silver lining!

Not good, cancelled booking to have Mimi do my wedding cake 2 weeks after making booking and the wedding isn't for another 5mths, so clearly she is not out of pocket, but as she has a no refund policy she refused to give me my $180.00 deposit back but offered a cake to this value which I had no choice but to accept. I never saw the cake as I had it delivered to one of the local businesses in the area. So be very careful when you order a cake from here.
