The Old Priory
The Old Priory is the perfect place for a large group of friends to connect, find quiet spaces and unwind. The function room was also beautifully set up and perfect for our party! Angela and Remo were very accommodating of our large party’s needs., we appreciate how hard they worked all weekend to make it special! The location is ideal. So close to the famous Beechworth Bakery, plus other fabulous eateries, local produce and wine shops. We will be back with our family and friends for other special birthdays.

The Old Priory
The Old Priory was a fantastic venue for my husbands 40th birthday where a huge group of us stayed in their wonderful, comfortable, charming historic and clean rooms and apartments. The owners were absolutely wonderful to deal with, so welcoming, calm and accomodating. They helped create a most magical evening in their beautiful function room.Location was fantastic. Just a short stroll to the Beechworth Main Street that has excellent shopping, wining and dining options. We will definitely be returning both as a family and for future group events. Thanks you so much The Old Priory!

We loved every minute of our stay at The Beechworth Old Priory. Thank you to our hosts Angela & Remo, who were terrific to deal with and communicating with them was always easy. Our room was delightful, sunlit, comfy & clean. The bathroom facilities were excellent too - side note - loved the tile work. The kitchen area & function rooms were fantastic, catered to our every need & roomy enough to catch up with all our friends (also staying at the Old priory for the weekend). We took a short easy walk up to town for a meal, coffee & a spot of shopping. Such a quaint weekend stay in a quaint town, we’ll definitely be back.

I would describe this place as a hostel, not a place for adults to willingly stay for pleasure. We took one look at the room and the facilities and decided to drive back to Melbourne rather than stay here. The room we were given was tiny and airless with just beds and electrical plugs. The toilet and bathroom facilities were down the end of the hall. There's a handful of rather luxurious private bathrooms, but if other guests are using them you have to make do with stalls that stink of urinal cakes.Down a couple of flights of stairs you will find a depressing TV room, communal kitchen, and dining area. For breakfast there are three Tupperware containers with a selection of muesli, rice bubbles and cornflakes, and a bottle of cows milk in the fridge.Next to this is a large recreation room that has all the upholstered leather chairs you could dream of, plus a pingpong table with 20 bats and 1 ball. (I guess kids could run laps of the empty room once the ball invariably gets lost.)The atmosphere is on the dim and depressing side of historic. If you want to recreate the oppressive feeling of being holed up in a dusty 19th century nunnery then this is the place for you.The promotional photos are so different to the reality that we wondered if we had the wrong place. And I also blame Google for displaying mostly positive reviews. Such glowingly positive reviews could only be explained if they are submitted by friends or family of the owners - or perhaps if the reviewer had been released from a long stint in prison with only a jail cell for comparison. We hated it and feel totally ripped off.

A stunning piece if history done up as a guest house, very quiet location of Beechworth, short walk to shops. The owners were very friendly and helpful, very clean and tidy rooms with shared bathrooms. A shared breakfast area with fridge and kettle, a help yourself breakfast supplied with T.V. Great for large groups of people a must visit to stay thumbs up

What a gorgeous building, such friendly staff and a wonderful location. We stayed overnight in one of the old miner's cottages and it was comfortable and cool in a 40 degree heatwave. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay there again.

Beautiful, peaceful in the midst of glorious gardens. Congratulations to the folk who own this place for keeping it so well maintained. Missed the Continental Breakfast as we had to leave early but we had a coffee on the balcony overlooking the garden and were sorry to leave. For those who love history and enjoy the character and beauty of old buildings this place is a gem.

The most spooky place I have ever visited back in 2012... It was cold, creepy and not that clean. I was really happy that we could leave after two nights :) Didn't see anyone who worked there...

We stayed in one of the Miners Cottages at the Old Priory at Beechworth. The room was small and simple but we very much enjoyed our stay. The bedding was great and we had one of the best sleeps in a long time. The style is obviously to the period and older, so you have to go with the flow, but it has a great feel to it.It’s within walking distance of the town centre so great place to stay and go for a wander. No need to grab the car anymore once you’ve settled in.The bathroom is older and definitely of the period, and the shower is a bit of work, but having access to a private shower is awesome in this place. The tub is an old air down tub, which is awkward to shower in and probably the only real thing that can do with improvement, but I understand why it may be left to the period. The taps were broken and should really real replaced.Only thing I would really improve is to provide better shampoo, conditioner and body wash, which was very basic (sachets).Overall we quite enjoyed our stay at the Priory.
