The Century by Golden Century
Chinese style seafood and Peking duck. I’m still drooling thinking about these dishes that I grew up eating. Though a bit pricey and service is not on a high standard, the nostalgia hits too hard for me to focus on anything else but the food. Though extremely flavourful be prepared to drink lots of water all night due to the magic ingredient most Asian restaurants use.

In any big Chinese celebrations or friends birthday, The Century Restaurant will always be our top priority to dine in. It’s the most iconic Cantonese style restaurant overall in Sydney.Mainly type are seafood where you can choose your own from the tank like abalone, pipi, mud crab, Alaska crab, squid, prawns, lobster, freshwater fish... you name it they got it.It’s all weight by per kgs so they will catch the selected seafood you choose and get you a marked up weight before they are send to the kitchen so it’s a both side agreeing first before it is cooked at your own type of choice. Fair enough.All the seafood are so fresh so usually we will get it steamed and just lightly stir fry instead of deep fried in order to savour the freshness of it.The hot and sour soup is a must try as appetiser. It is not really hot but enough to open up your appetite before dig in the seafood.Besides seafood, there are also loads of other poultry to choose too.Service is efficient but don’t expect a good one during Chinese celebration time especially Chinese New Year for the bookings and turnover are so so crazy ! You will have to line up even to ask for a glass of water. Other than those day yes service is alright and attentive.It’s a bit pricy but judging on the ambience, location and freshness like I said it is fair enough. Whatever you pay for is exactly whatever you will get, worth the price.

Quite expensive for the food portion, but its good for experience, good serve and 50/50 for the taste, shocked me at last, we need to pay for the water haha around 28$ for a bottle

Great quality Chinese food. Although somewhat more pricey, it is definitely a go-to for high quality Chinese food. The salt & pepper spare ribs are a must try!

Food was quite nice, the atmosphere was busy and quite everywhere. We ordered some drinks but they were returned as they had no flavour for the cost price and the mocktails also. Staff assisted where needed but was at times hard to find staff as we were at the back of the restaurant.

Great food but extremely over priced compared to other places within the casino. The S&P calamari were bland and flavourless We had a booking for a table of 10 for 9:30pm and were seated at 9:55 to be then told we must order everything at once as kitchen closes at 10:30pm. Not a great experience to be rushed and not told until after being seated.

The food was great and a wonderful option for us when we stayed at The Star.It's external location at The Star alongside the light rail and carpark adds to its convenience and less hustle and bustle relative to the options inside The Star.

Great Chinese food inside the Star Casino. The menu reads like a novel and it takes a long time to choose your dishes. The wine menu is also massive and has some great wines.

The Century serves formal Southern Chinese style dishes during dinner time while also serving yum-cha style food during the brunch time-slot. We were here for a wedding celebration, so we found ourselves in a quite exclusive looking private dining area.For the occasion, we ordered many dishes like honey prawns, duck in plum sauce and chicken served in ginger shallot soy sauce. All of which were cooked just right. But the highlight of the day was the fresh lobster two ways.The first way was the lobster tail sashimi. It was a well presented dish on a huge plate with visual effects created by the use of liquid nitrogen. The meat was fresh and the super tasty tomalley was removed from the head and served on a small plate.The second way was lobster pieces with vermicelli served in a hot clay pot. The dish was a little spicy but not overpowering, giving everyone a reason to get their hands dirty to suck on the shells and get every last bit of meat out.Overall, the restaurant looks classy (but expensive) and the food was great.
