Bribie Island
Very disappointed and upset with the beach access on Bribie island. Having moved here from south Australia only three months ago it was my first time on the island and I did not realise that you had to pay to drive your four-wheel-drive on the beach there was no adequate sign saying that you would be fined I have now received a $200 fine which I’m very disappointed with. We will never go to the island again or anywhere near it. There should be adequate signage to say that there is a very high penalty for accessing the beach.

We lived here many years ago & went back to celebrate our anniversary. We were in awe as to how much the island has grown! So many houses, so many shops, so many people. We stayed for a week & visited all the places we went to when we lived there. It was a beautiful “trip down Memory Lane”.We stayed in Woorim. We had the beach to ourselves on a number of occasions & were even treated to a couple of pods of dolphins fishing in the shallow waters!Certainly is a must-see, must-stay & must-go to place.

Love this island, chilled out, great restaurants and clubs, long long sand beach, happy shiny sleepy place, with gorgeous wildlife and good people

If you ever come to the Sunshine coast you must stop at the first point. Bribie Island. A bridge that connects you to from the main land in a vehicle. So much to see and do you need a week to enjoy the Island but even a day trip won't disappoint. From great pubs to fab food choices this hidden gem is one the retiree's have kept to themselves. Plenty of great shops, spectacular views, all types of beaches, fishing, swimming, BBQs, wild life and nature parks. Get here quick before it's too late and maybe one day the island has disappeared.

One of my all time fave places to camp. Lil bit busier than 13 years ago but still sensational

If you are looking for a nice sandy beach close to Brisbane, go to Bribie. This is probably the closest- so I have been told. The beach we went to (Woorim) has very nice fine sand. It was nice and soft. It was not heavily crowded in the afternoon when we went at the patrolled beach. The waves were nice and not huge. We also went up further for a look at the un- patrolled section it was very nice. The suburb itself is daggy and outdated. It has no nice features that I could see as we drove to the beach. The shops near the beach didn’t seem exciting.
