This business seems to have gone downhill after selling out to the big corporates. A recent purchase of $1200 worth of timber panels arrived as a DIY kit even after extensive phone discussions about requiring completed panels. Sadly, the kit was also incorrect with the wrong pieces. Many emails later I have no satisfaction and am forced to conclude that Simon's only job is to stonewall customers until they lose the will to live. I won't be coming back here for my timber products.

Beautiful premises with great historic atmosphere and easy parking. The timber flooring is the display as you wander through the store.Comprehensive range of quality tools, fixtures, fittings, and finishing products.Plenty of knowledgable, friendly staff.Diverse range of colonial re-pro tin window covers and period lattice etc, but also excellent quality contemporary door/screen/concertina windows etc.What a great store.

Recently ordered MGP T2 framing timber delivered. There was a hick-up with the delivery but Finlayson's jumped on it and sorted it quickly. This industry has been hit hard on the back of covid supply issues and construction problems with inflation and labour shortages. Mistakes happen but it's all about how you make them right. In all, good supplier and well recommended.

I visited them showroom of Finlayson's because I wanted to see what I preferred with a window hood. And there they were, made up and on the wall. Great job - I actually changed my mind as you which one I preferred because I could see it. Awesome!

Rang up to check stock of heritage arch’s. Stock available so drove 2 hours to purchase. The price advertised online was HALF the actual cost of the arches when I went to buy them. Was told the prices online are wrong and it’s in the small print. The staff were rude and dismissive when I raised the fact that’s false advertising. How about advertising your actual prices guys! I will avoid buying for our expensive renovations here.

Horrible business. Refused to supply the compliance certificates for the items they supplied for my house build. This caused me several months of grief trying to find replacement certificates and from qualified professionals who'd sign off on my build.In my view, they acted in incredibly poor faith and were without compassion.Do not recommend. Do yourself a favour and try Brett's instead. We found them far better.I will never use this business again and anyone that asks me I will encourage them to go elsewhere.
