I love to come here and eat lunch. It's a beautiful green space with some benches and good grass patches. I love meeting friends here for a good chat every now and again. Something I thought was cool is that plants in the garden have labels and little descriptions. Also I noticed last time that they have an open bee box. This place is worth a visit if you like plants or just want some where to chill.

It's good-- but they've caged it off towards the New science building, as though they want less people to use it. The low chicken wire fence is a pretty clunky part of what otherwise would be a lovely precinct.Though perhaps the garden can't sustain the sort of foot traffic that would use the thoroughfare between union house and the western edge of campus. If so then why bother opening the science building to the gardens, if there is just going to be a fence between them for 90% of the shared perimeter. Strange

A hidden gem on the University of Melbourne campus. A cloistered garden with interesting botany; a perfect place to sit and rest. Make sure to check out the wollemi pine, a relatively large example of this living fossil.
