Solar Analytics

I installed my InStyle Solar system in July 2022 and Solar Analytics was included in the deal. I began using the app shortly after and found it to be quite useful and a powerful tool to monitor my electricity use. However, the system has been down almost longer than it has been working since then! I am in business and understand that things can go wrong. I am not even upset that the system seems to be too delicate to be relied upon. What I cannot accept is the absolutely non-existent customer service. My system has been down since January 29th and I have not had any reply to my numerous emails since then. This is not the first time this has happened in my short history with this company. The really infuriating thing they do is send me emails telling me my system is down.........Really?! Things go wrong in life......it's how a problem is handled that makes or breaks a reputation!! I NEVER write bad reviews (I hate cheap keyboard warrior syndrome) but felt compelled to do so this time. What's the bet I receive an email now??!!

I love this platform - I can enter in my current contracts details and it finds cheaper deals for me. It really helps me maximise my investment. Subscription is cheap at $40 a year. Will save me way more than that. I love being able to see how my system is going and what to expect. In this first year of having my panels it's great information to know.

Update based on response.Stating that the subscription is $40 is misleading. The hardware is over $850 and a 10 year subscription is $800.The labour component from the installer was only $550. The remaining cost is solar analytics hardware and subscription.Not to mention the terrible customer service.Terrible experience. I would not recommend. I found this company very difficult to deal with. Poor customer service. They don’t like answering the phone and can take weeks to reply to emails if they respond at all.The products are not cost effective and I was quoted $5600 to install this monitoring on 3 devices. I would recommend customers just buy a decent inverter with their solar that has an app that can provide real time data. No need for this expensive bells and whistles. Spend the money on your solar system instead.

Paid for a lifetime monitoring subscription and Solar Analytics hardware April 2020. Turns out it is 3G even though carriers announced 3G shutdown 2 years early. Solar analytics have advised that I have to purchase a 4G upgrade and my lifetime subscription will not be valid. Their terms and conditions state existing lifetime subscription valid as long as 3G or 4G is available. So to summarise, sold 3G equipment well after shutdown was announced, lifetime monitoring should also still be valid as 4G is available. 2 major holes in their money grab. Awaiting response from SA before contacting ACCC and publishing reviews on Solar Quotes website and contacting Finn Peacock about doing a story on this.

Paid $600 for a solaranalytics Lifetime subscription in mid 2019. Today early 2023, after 3.5yrs, they email saying they are cancellling all Lifetime subscriptions but would like to offer me a 5yr subscription worth $249. A dishonest lot by any measure.Also they installed a 3G dongle in 2019 - the year 5G was released. 3G is being phased out, so I have to buy a 4G dongle. Clearly selling a 3G dongle in 2019 is planned obsolescence to the extreme.Would not trust this lot to honour any of their promises.

So it does not do as shown, no real data, just a total for the day, and a big tick to say it is working, very poor app and system output. It says add you electricity bill etc, but there is no way to do this. Very disappointed, with our solar installation and this program, will have to wait for our electricity bill to see if we are actually producing power and sending it back to the grid. Find another installer that does not use this program.

What a great service! Helpful pre-installation communication with the solar installer and myself, excellent follow-up and really useful information post-installation (much more comprehensive than any other solar monitoring system I have looked at). Well worth the fee to install and maintain and I feel very happy with my decision to use Solar Analytics. I would highly recommend others considering installing a solar system with monitoring to look at Solar Analytics at the time of installation of the solar panels.

Paid for a lifetime monitoring subscription a few years ago. Solar analytics will now not be honoring my lifetime subscription which I bought in good faith. This speaks volumes of the company's morals and integrity. Even though the product is adequate I would stay well clear of this company.

I changed modem recently and the device no longer connects. I've been told I have to pay a technician to fix. So the whole system loses any value.
