Thank you to ALL the Pinetrees staff for all that you do every day to engage with your guests and create amazing holiday memories. This is our third stay at Pinetrees and it just keeps getting better. Anytime of day you are greeted with a smile and a genuine to desire to make your day stress free and get maximum enjoyment whilst on LHI.If you have more than the common food allergies(Coeliac/Dairy/Anaphylaxis) the Pinetrees chefs will make you love food again. Every day they worked with us to create amazing food that focused on what we CAN eat rather than it being a chore for them to deviate from the prepared menu for the day. This took away the stress of being that “annoying person” who has to be different even when it’s out of your control.

5 star service without the price tag & formalityMy wife & I just got back from 8 nights at Pinetrees for a dive week in conjunction with Pro Dive & would totally recommend it.Our room (under the palms room) was freshly renovated & the location is ideal, being a short walk or bike to everything. The onsite day spa I can recommend for a massage & the boat shed was perfect for a drink to watch the sunset over the lagoon.A big bonus was that food was included, not only did the team handle our food allergies, but worked around us not making nominated sitting times due to our diving schedule. The whole team, & it really is a team, was helpful & friendly, quietly working away in the background.Having stayed at several places in Lord Howe, my wife & I agreed that Pinetrees is the place we want to come back again & againGeoff

Spent a week here for my 30th. It was INCREDIBLE!! The staff were so welcoming from airport collection, to a tour around the island, meals were insane (especially me custom birthday cake!!) and our BBQs around the island were fantastic - they even collect them and clean up after you! Beautiful fresh rooms with a stack of the latest magazines. Could not fault this place. There is a reason why people return year after year. Divine!

Our flights were cancelled due to bad weather. Pine Trees refused to transfer our booking to another date and we got zero refund. So rather than a holiday, we were left following up documents for travel insurance. We're left several thousand dollars out of pocket. The Pine Trees team at Sydney were less than helpful after they knew we wouldn't be going. No help with documents or liaising with travel insurance. I recommend you have top level travel insurance. I won't be bothering to visit.

Pinetrees Lodge Puts Profit before PeopleBooked 9 months ago for a Big Birthday celebration in 6 weeks' time. Due to pay the balancing $22 000 (of $35 000) this week.Pinetrees Lodge elected NOT to advise us that a vast part of the island is - and I quote - closed to non essential visitors" due to a disease-causing fungal outbreak being treated with a cocktail of hazardous chemicals. The key eco areas of the island including the unique Permanent Park Preserve are closed!Pinetrees Lodge has also refused to return my deposit despite our vacation being entirely compromised by the risks & closure of all walking trails and nature areas - the primary reason to visit Lord Howe. Profit before People. Not impressed."

Our flights were cancelled due to bad weather. Pine Trees refused to transfer our booking to another date, very disappointing considering it was out of our hands! The Pine Trees team at Sydney were less than helpful. I recommend you read the fine print with any travel insurance company, make sure you’re covered for any weather events.

With over half a century of having holidays under my belt, this is by far the best holiday place I’ve ever stayed!!Food is included, abundant, delicious, abundant, prepared by top chefs, abundant, and … did I say ‘abundant’? Seriously - you’ll end up scaling back or even declining whole sections of a meal because you’ve got no more room for it.The staff are the jewel in the crown of Pinetrees - every one of them will make you feel welcome, be endlessly helpful, and will quite likely even know your name. They all seem to really genuinely care. The facilities are truly lovely - enough old world charm to be amazing, with enough “modern” to never feel like you’ve downgraded anything.

Amazing customer service. Staff make an effort to know all the guests by name and nothing is too much trouble . My favourite thing was the bbq or picnic they would transport to wherever you’d like (and pick up too) understated elegance is how I’d describe Pintrees!

Pinetrees is the best located resort on Lord Howe Island, close to the ‘CBD’ and most other island highlights. It provides comfortable, secluded and quiet accommodation set amongst soaring Norfolk pines. It offers the unique opportunity of having a delicious lunch, either picnic or BBQ, delivered to a variety of locations whilst enjoying your daily adventure. We always felt looked after by the staff who were interested in making sure that we got the very best out of our holiday experience, providing excellent advice when planning the days activities. We will never forget our time on the Island. We felt so privileged to have experienced the magical and pristine environment of Lord Howe Island. I so hope that we can return one day and would not hesitate to return to Pinetrees.

From the moment we landed on Lord Howe Island and were met at the airport gate by one of the amazing staff members of Pinetrees, we knew we were in for a treat. Lunch was almost over, but the buffet was replenished for the six of us who arrived on the plane. Following lunch we were taken on a drive to get our bearings on the island. We then returned to the resort where our Transit Hill room was ready with our luggage delivered. Excellent room with a king size bed, kitchenette, desk, bathroom and a verandah at the back with comfortable chairs where we could sit and relax with a quiet drink each day after hiking to the many amazing places there were to see on the island. The entire place was well set up. very clean and functional as well as comfortable. We needed to do all the hiking because we were fed so well every day with breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and 5 star dinners each evening in the dining room. The food was excellent with plenty of variety and we learnt a few new ways that we will try with presentation of meals at home. The staff, from the time we first checked in, all knew our names and treated us like long lost friends although it was our first visit to the island. This made us feel as though we belonged (part of the family) and certainly made our time on the island special. Apart from this all staff members were professional in their duties and, if we had any questions, they were all well-informed and able to help us with our queries and give us tips for activities we could do and places that we really should see.We could have hired a car or bicycles for transport to the start of the many hiking trails, but Pinetrees is central to everything so we walked everywhere. If (when) we return we will most likely go in Summer, as the water wasn't quite warm enough for us to swim or snorkel in during late September/early October, especially being Far North Queenslanders. However, we had been experiencing cooler than usual weather at home during August and September, so other years the weather may not be so cool on Lord Howe Island at that time of year, and ... with excellent food and warm, comfortable beds, the weather didn't really matter. For those interested in sports other than walking/hiking/climbing or water sports, Pinetrees has a tennis court with all the equipment free for use.For those who want a more relaxing time they have a library/ reading room where you can settle with a good book.
