Huge range of quality clothes and surf wear but quite expensive

Shopping at sideways is best for swimwear but there are better surf shops for clothing probably at better prices.

Picked up cheap pluggers/thongs and a wide brimmed hat. Big warehouse style shop with a pretty good variety of surf gear. The only thing they could change is some larger signage showing discounted pricing.

Don’t buy at sideways , their shorts differ in fitting and no refund is offered .They use the excuse we are an outlet store .That’s a con , you’re better off going to a surf shop and paying the extra couple of dollars for piece of mind.I certainly won’t be buying here again .

I’m really disappointed with customer service at this store.I bought a longboard yesterday at sideways tweed heads firstly the salesman said the wrong price. He didn’t know the one that I choose it wasn’t in sale as the other 8ft. I just knew when I was paying for it it was full price.Secondly he left me with the wrong fins at the checkout and the girl at the counter needs to call him to bring the right single fin. He even did not explain that I need a specific screwdriver to plug the fin into the board.Im really disappointed. I needed to go to another shop ask for assistance.

I visited the Surf Outlet company Sideways. The exterior presentation of the store was very smart. It was based in a factory style building, but had been renovated with darkened mirror glass walls and finished with a black and white sign which read Sideways Surf Outlet. Inside, the shop was dark but freshly Air conditioned. On entry the cashier's were placed directly on the left and rows of clothing to the right. All the clothing was neatly hung or folded. Behind the clothing were racks of surf boards. The surfboards were categorised by their type and style and were laid out in neat rows. Most were hanging from their tails but a few (mainly the most expensive) were placed horizontally on board racks. They did have an upstairs which had board bags, foamy boards and secondhand boards. It was generally a clean, neat and presentable interior.I was browsing the surf boards when one of the staff asked me whether I needed any assistance. I agreed and explained that I was looking to buy a surfboard. He asked me what kind of board I was looking for, how I wanted to ride the boards and my skill level. He then reccomended a board I might like. He got me to hold the board and feel it. Whilst I was holding it, he explained why the board would help me do what I wanted to do and what it was best at. He had very detailed product knowledge and was able to surf himself so he could talk about his past experiences and express his passion for surf in his sales. He sold the product well and I ended up buying the board as well as the accessories he recommended.The staff were very professional, polite and friendly. They were dressed smart and were helpful. They even offered to help me take the new board to my car, of which I kindly declined.I would rate my overall experience as one of excellence. The service was to the highest standards. It made me want to revisit the store and possibly purchase another of their products.

Excellent selection of reasonable value surf and skatewear. I've been here before and both times was impressed. I would happily visit again if I need shorts, t-shirts, surf style thongs. Staff seemed friendly and helpful.

Products excellent, staff excellent. Procedures and processes for gift card buying a nightmare. They have no systems, their right hand does not know what their left hand is doing.For this day and age one would think they would have excellent computer systems. They really are in the dark ages. It is such a shame as it does turn you off buying thereI had a reply from Leah - Owner, and it was very disappointing that she has taken my comments personally. I was talking about their systems not their staff nor her.Unfortunately, once again, the customer's original feedback is not given the right perspective. For e.g. the response to Amit's feedback. My perception was Amit was asking for communication only about his situation, that is all.We thoroughly enjoy your Store and shop there many times and have spent thousands of dollars, so it is not your product nor your staff Leah, it is the companies procedures.
