My 1994 Toyota Landcriuser air-conditioning compressor was taken to TAP Dandenong on recommendation of a friend sayng it was a good honest air con servicing place, because the original factory compressor started leaking on the shaft seal. TAP replaced the compressor and gassed up and returned it on a cool day. Air-conditioning seemed fine but unable to test it properly in hot conditions. The car is mainly used for trips to Central Aus, so spends most time parked. Finally had some hot weather 11 months later and it was disappointingly hot. Temperature cooled to just 12° -15°C at outlet and cabin temperature was on 28°C. Unable to cool cabin. Returned it to TAP and found Tom in caretaker mode with new owners. They tested it and gave it a clean bill of health which it clearly wasn't. After discussion with them, they added extra gas to the unit. Again due to the cool weather in 2022, and not taking car to warmer parts of Aus, the car sat until Christmas Day 2022.Drihing to Chistmaa Day lunch in 37°C the cabin was on 40°C and we roasted even with windows open. On arriving at destination, discovered electromagnetic clutch not operating, so had to fix it in the heat! Possibly caused by lack of contact in cable connector, but got it working. Looked forward to a cool return trip, but the air-conditioning still didn't work despite compressor turning over. No gas bubbles in the filters checking window, so shut off aircon to avoid damage. Possible cause, gas may have leaked out due to gas recharging valve not being shut correctly in service? Extremely disappointed with installation hy TAP because at least the original compressor cooled the car despite the deposit of dust indicating a shaft leak!Need to return car to fix the problem.

The boss is good and always nice when talking to customers however unfortunately he has hired a wrong person - the lady who answers phone calls knows nothing about being patient and polite to customers. When I asked her when I would be able to talk to the boss on phone she answered ‘you are playing a wording game’, while I asked her if she could give me advice if I described symptoms to her she said ‘you are wasting my time’. I would never recommend this company to others unless she didn’t work there anymore! The rating is 4-5 for skills and 0 for customer service!

Can't recommend Tom highly enough. Honesty and integrity in what he does. Saved us from a non existent $1700 repair. Tom has many years experience and service with old fashioned values and ethical approach.

Great service by guys who really know car air conditioning. Good rates and they fixed my problem completely. Sam and Tom are friendly, took the time to diagnose a hard to find problem, explained the issue and showed me the defective parts. Would definitely go to them again for any future aircon problems.

Very poorly organised had a lot of excuses why he couldn't do my job after it was booked in well in advance. I travelled 1.5 hrs to get my car fixed by him after recommendations but never again.
