Mt Blackwood Summit
Mount Blackwood is at an altitude of about 739m above sea level. There are great 360 degree views from here on a perfect day. To the east whole city of Melbourne and Mt Dandenong and beyond. If you are lucky, the fire towerman is in, and can point out the areas of interest.Note: To the drivers remember this is a reserve, stick to the track and not to drive over all of the native grasses.If you do, you will kill it, and it takes some time to regenerate. Do not make an excuse for DELWP to close it to the public.

One of the best lookouts in the area, approach from Myrnong side as is bitumen road other approach is a longer rougher gravel road.

Amazing view of the valley from here. There is a track for hiking if you are fit. 2wd access up to the summit. 739m height.

Picturesque views of rolling green mountains of Lerderderg State Forest below. Short and steep gravel track off Mt Blackwood Road to the summit suitable for 2WD cars but do exercise caution. Only great views, no amenities available.

Great spot close to Melbourne with nice views. Easy 2wd access. If you drive about 100 metres past the entrance to the suMmit will be rewarded with views of the rolling hills of wombat state forest.

Mt Blackwood Summit
Mount Blackwood is a prominent scoria dome built on lava flows extending out 8 km south. Fantastic views of rolling hills as far as the eye can see and its worth the drive out here just for that. Might be a good idea to check the weather before you come up here, it was super windy and cold. No facilities close by.There is access to a walking trail which is part of the Lederderg State Park.
