Great staff and service. Large venue for bands with a very wide, smallish stage that allows good intimacy between performer and audience. Punter area has gorgeously sticky carpet as testimony to many good nights had, casual lounge and seating areas as well. Excellent atmos.

An absolutely outstanding venue! A great size! Plenty of dance floor! And a great bar! The bouncers and the bar staff are really friendly and very professional! If there’s a concert held at the uni bar that I like I will be attending with no hesitations! I saw the Chats and really enjoyed my time! 5/5 stars no questions asked!

Not a bad recovery job after the flooding which affected Hobart last year. What downgrades the amount of stars is that prices for beer are around the same as what would be found in pubs in the city despite the Uni Bar being geared toward Uni students. Apart from that, it's a solid location near the Tasmanian University Union, Suzy Lee's and conveniently placed for a drink after classes on a Friday. The facility can be expanded for functions to a deceptively large volume with concerts of reputable acts able to be held within the venue. Staff numbers are good but you won't find Tasmanian beers on tap at the time of review which may be a turnoff to some. Worth checking out if you're in the area!

Strange space inside. The back bar very large and not comfortable. Upstairs beer garden is fairly dismal. Its ok as a music venue when they open up the much nicer front bar.

Delicious food. The only catch is that they don't have a fixed menu (or I am not aware of it) but on a day when you can get lasagna you are in for a treat. Be it of any meat it's simply outstanding and however hard you try you can't resist from having a second plate.
