Glenferrie Lodge

Great location with ferries running continuously day and night. A huge breakfast was included with great array of choices. Price was fantastic and room beautifully decorated and had high quality linen on the bed and big fluffy towels. Staff were all wonderful and helpful.There was even a little shop inside the Guesthouse which sold snacks and drinks at very reasonable prices. Each room had good size tv, tea & coffee supplies, room safe, and plenty of hanging space. Although bathrooms were shared they were immaculate and all recently renovated.There was a lovely lounge/dining area where you could watch a large TV.This would have to be the best value accommodation in Sydney. I have stayed three times already and will keep coming there as much as possible when I am in Sydney again.Judith Kenny

I've visited Glenferrie on a number of occasions now over the last 8 years and whilst I still rate it highly and the breakfast/location is unbeatable. Some of the property is now showing a fair amount of wear and deeper cleaning required in the rooms, lots of dust underneath the beds for example. It may just be the cheaper rooms affected but I hope before my next visit the rooms get a bit more TLC to bring Glenferrie back to what I remember on my previous visits. Wifi seems to struggle to deliver speed quite often. Staff friendly as always. Overall good value.

The rooms Are very comfortable and the common garden area is is a real plus.Staff are exceptional. Great value for money. Highly recommended.

Great accommodation in an amazing location. Staff were friendly and helpful, decor was beautiful, beds were comfortable with quality linen. Breakfast was a tasty bonus - and it's evident from comments from other guests that many were repeat visitors. I can understand why! We'll be back too!

The location couldn't be better. A short walk from one of two ferry terminals and Milsons Point train station.If you like well kept and old fashioned guest houses, then look no further. For those of you who want modern gloss and sheen then perhaps look elsewhere.Our stay included a triple room with two beds, a bar fridge, tv and a shared bathroom. The room itself was very clean and the shared bathrooms were also well kept.The venue is located in a quiet area and barely a stones throw from the Prime Ministers House. Oh, there is also a fantastic breakfast available at a small cost.The stay was also made perfect thanks to very helpful, kind and understanding staff.

I often stay at Glenferrie Lodge as its good value and close proximity to the city means that I can take the short ferry into town when I want to. The breakfast is the highlight for me and the fact it’s included is a bargain. My only gripe is the stairs can be a problem for older knees, but I often organise with Paolo at the front desk for one of the ground floor rooms.

I have mixed feelings about this place.It was excellent value for money (maybe the best in Sydney).and the location is awesome!!! A ten minute walk through leafy terraced houses to trains and harbour bridge and Luna Park. Two minute walk to the ferry. Bush turkeys and kookaburras and parrots are everywhere in Kirribilli. The Governor General’s house and the Prime Minister’s house are just around the corner Harbour views are just wonderful in Kirribilli and you get a pretty god harbour outlook from the top floor balconies in Glenferry Lodge. The beds are super comfortable. There is a safe and bar fridge in every room. The place is clean and the the showers good pressure.However there were lots of little drawbacks. They don’t supply facecloths! They said to put our towels out if we want them changed, but they just took them away. The laundry machine was expensive (but all hotels are like that). Our air conditioner in our room didn’t work.Lastly the hotel is four floors high and even the foyer is a steep flight of steps one story up from the pavement. The stairs are so steep throughout the building. We were young and fine with it, but I definitely saw some less fit folk struggling up the stairs!!!

Bed was comfy. Bathroom/toilet is small that you could hardly move. Floor, bin, sink and towel on the floor - disgusting!!! plus a noisy person next door talking over speaker phone!
